For Me, Myself and I

This has been one heck of a busy summer here in my hollow.  I did steal bits of time to work on this wall-hanging.  The fabric is called Autumn Lily from a Moda Scrap Bag I was able to purchase from Instagram's #thegreatfabricdestash for 7 bucks. (If you are able to Instagram be sure to keep an eye on this hashtag) I've seen some deals and of course you have those who gouge for old fabric lines in hot demand.  They seem to get what they ask as there are plenty who are willing to pay.

MTNROSEDESIGNS on Instagram was kind enough to share her EQ7 rotary cutting directions.  After I saw how cute Sue's quilt was I wanted to make one for myself.

I also knew that I wanted to "frost" my quilt with a new design to me called, Abstract Butterfly.  One of the reasons I quilted dense is my thought of wash, dry and crinkle looking.  But in the end, I hung it fresh and crisp and love seeing the backlight really make that quilting pop!

Because I only had the Moda Scrap bag strips I raided my stash for something to use as the backing.  I'm quite pleased.  This photo was taken before I had stitched that binding down to the back.  While I love the old barn reds, mustard yellows and olive greens to decorate my home; I love this soft romantic look in the guest room area.
I've hurt my back again and have had to really favor it these last several days.  Using a heating pad might help but it is Summer and then my own internal flame. Sigh.
Are you quilting for the holidays?  Here we are into August and your longarm quilters are getting busy, busy.  Just sayin...get to stitching!
