Got Stash? 3-Yard Quilt Favorites Book Giveaway!

Awhile back I was scouring through Pinterest post and happened to see a really cute baby quilt.  I followed the link and discovered Fabric Café.  This was a fun surprise because they have some really cute kits for quick quilts and reasonably priced too.  As I was looking through the kits I found that most only required 3, one yard cuts of fabric.

Donna Robertson is the author and designer of 3-Yard Quilt Favorites.  She writes, " Whether you want to reduce your stash or purchase brand-new fabrics, there is no need to agonize over fabric selection and yardage requirements.  If you are out shopping and see a fabric you like, you will know you can finish a great quilt with 3, one yard cuts!"

Here is where I mention my two "girls" (DIL and youngest son's girlfriend) who are new quilters.  As all new quilters they find making fabric choices a tad overwhelming and want to make very simple quilts for gift giving family and friends.

As I'm reading through Donna's website and learn about her book and then I get really excited because how many one yard cuts of fabric had I built up in my own stash that are just lingering?  Oh yes, there was a time way before pre-cuts when we just bought fabrics as we "liked" them.  Tell me your not guilty of this as well?  A cute novelty here and there perhaps?

I'm an experienced quilter and could likely look at the pictures of the quilts, do the math and make it my own...but what if I want to be lazy and just get it done quickly?  What about "my girls" who could use guidance and diagrams to follow?

So yep, bought one of Donna's books to share with "my girls."  The back of the book shows all the quilts they could whip up.

When I purchased my own copy,  Donna sent a spare to blog and giveaway.  I hope you will visit Fabric Café to see Donna's other books, fabrics, kits, free patterns etc.  Oh and Donna's blog can be found HERE.

To win your copy, simple leave a quick comment of some sort.  I'll announce winner Wednesday.

Awesome! SIMPLE is just what I want to concentrate on this year. After doing lots of scrappy quilts these past couple of years I'd love to do something other than a pillowcase or border with my yardage! So..... Please pick me! lol!

What a great idea and I need an excuse to purchase more fabric. Out with the old using it up quickly and then out to buy new without feeling guilty!

I bought some three yard selections from Fabric Cafe at the end of February. I got the other of her books, which Donna signed for me. I have already made one of the quilts, but have a few selections left! Maybe the pattern I want is in this book!

Oh Wow, when we went to the quilt show in Hampton Roads each year, Fabric Café booth was where I headed to buy her three-yard bundles. Made many of her patterns and now an entire book is wonderful. She sure knows how to coordinate the fabric she sells. Thank you Mary for the opportunity to win this. Judy C in NC

The book looks very interesting!! Three yards isn't a lot of fabric and I love small quilts.

Andrea York said...

This really looks very interesting. Even though I just started sewing/quilting a year ago, I have several one yard cuts of pretty fabrics that I wasn't sure what I"d make with them but were too pretty to leave in the store! This book would help me use them!

how fun to have "your girls" interested in quilting. I was really shocked when my daughter decided she wanted to learned. She did not even like to sew. So we made a black with bright colors and lots of the cute m&m guys and gal. It turned out wonderful. Now she is so busy she has no time to sew, but she is getting fabrics for a quilt for when she can again. this one has jungle fabrics and tigers.
