Awhile back I was scouring through Pinterest post and happened to see a really cute baby quilt. I followed the link and discovered Fabric Café. This was a fun surprise because they have some really cute kits for quick quilts and reasonably priced too. As I was looking through the kits I found that most only required 3, one yard cuts of fabric.
Donna Robertson is the author and designer of 3-Yard Quilt Favorites. She writes, " Whether you want to reduce your stash or purchase brand-new fabrics, there is no need to agonize over fabric selection and yardage requirements. If you are out shopping and see a fabric you like, you will know you can finish a great quilt with 3, one yard cuts!"
Here is where I mention my two "girls" (DIL and youngest son's girlfriend) who are new quilters. As all new quilters they find making fabric choices a tad overwhelming and want to make very simple quilts for gift giving family and friends.
As I'm reading through Donna's website and learn about her book and then I get really excited because how many one yard cuts of fabric had I built up in my own stash that are just lingering? Oh yes, there was a time way before pre-cuts when we just bought fabrics as we "liked" them. Tell me your not guilty of this as well? A cute novelty here and there perhaps?
I'm an experienced quilter and could likely look at the pictures of the quilts, do the math and make it my own...but what if I want to be lazy and just get it done quickly? What about "my girls" who could use guidance and diagrams to follow?
So yep, bought one of Donna's books to share with "my girls." The back of the book shows all the quilts they could whip up.
When I purchased my own copy, Donna sent a spare to blog and giveaway. I hope you will visit Fabric Café to see Donna's other books, fabrics, kits, free patterns etc. Oh and Donna's blog can be found HERE.
To win your copy, simple leave a quick comment of some sort. I'll announce winner Wednesday.
