Getting A Better Deal!

My latest issue of AP&Q arrived yesterday along with a renewal notice to pay $21.97 for one year.  I remembered when I called them last year to change my mailing address they offered a better subscription deal. I'm glad I called them yesterday and asked if they were having a special and they offered one year for $14.99.   I thought worthy to pass on to you!

Jo Kramer and her daughter Kelli Kramer are cover girls on this issue with their design Red, White & oooh quilt!  Congrats ladies!

Let's Catch-up!

Sharing with you today two finishes!  These are called, "Speck" from Carrie Nelson's Little Bites pattern line.
Rather than using those binding clips I simply use a single pin to hold down my binding just inches from where I stitch.  I simply move this single pin down as I work my way around the quilt top.
I've quilted the borders and sashing on the longarm and decided to big stitch or primitive stitch pearl cotton around the blocks...still in the works.
In the past weeks I won two different giveaways!  Thank you to Norma of Timeless Traditions for her design Woodland Tree Skirt.  Also thank you Julie of JulieKQuilts blog for having two Nickel Quilts books and giving away her extra!
This Is a glimpse of Swoon by Thimbleblossoms.  Bari's quilt, not mine. (Dang!).  It's on it's way back to her to bind and gift to her son and future daughter-in-love's wedding.
Still waiting for wedding pictures to share!  Meanwhile I snagged this one from Instagram.  My younger son and his gal.

Speaking of Instagram, I've learned more and more bloggers using it than posting to their blogs. You can find me there too.

Jobi's Quilt Shams

Now that the wedding is over and guest returned home, I'm back to quilting.

This is a queen size quilted with whirlpools for fun motion and I love the texture it gives the top.

It's always fun to see before and after quilting too!

SHAMS!  Jobi is one smart gal!  The queen size quilt will also have shams to match.  Jobi simply made two smaller quilt tops and had me quilt them before she stitches them into shams.  Brilliant!

May I be your quilter?

Happy Day!

It's official!  I've got a daughter-in-love!  I'm waiting on more photos to share here.  My DIL chose the fabrics and wanted the simplicity of quilt pattern called, The Yellow Brick Road by Terry Atkinson.  I pieced the quilt and quilted it with feathers.

I thought you would like to see this antique shelf we bought years ago at a market in Belgium.  I'm still tweaking decor here and there.  The quilt was gifted to me a few years ago.  It's a Kim Diehl pattern.

Here's another antique shelf.  The bench was bought at a market in The Netherlands.  It was a bed at one time.  The seat does lift for storage.  That basket looks lonely hanging there.  I'll be tweaking this area for sure.  A want to hang my Sheep in the Willows quilt to the left side of all this.  I showed the top a few post back.  It needs to be quilted.

New rug at the colors!  I found it at Wal-Mart.

That's it for now.  I've got company coming in today and busy week ahead.  My son marries this Saturday!  We are so excited and I'm so looking forward to seeing all my guys in their suits and ties.

More decor.....

I'm still decorating and tweaking placement of quilts and my old things.

A hallway leading to garage and laundry with drop-zone.

I like old saws to hang quilts.  Here's a couple more too.

...and last picture for this post is a small sampling of treasures I have on the shelf above the dining area in kitchen.  I hope you enjoyed.
