Happy New Year! Read On.....

Thank you friends who sent me surprises!  I received books, patterns, fabrics, Polish pottery and gifts from your hands.  My birthday is just a few days before Christmas so these are from both celebrations.

Cotton, wool, a crow and big primitive stitches!  I love how she quilted the border too!

Wool table mats with a special note of more to come!  I was thinking of creating a space on my studio wall for these pretties!

A hipster bag with polka-dots!  How cute is this and just the right size to carry on my first ever cruise!

Jeff and I celebrate 31 years of bliss tomorrow and have booked a cruise for later next month.  Our first vacation we are taking that is just the two of us, and hundreds of other cruisers.  LOL!

Quilt Hollow is making changes for 2015.  I've got to make the change for my own health and peace of mind.  While I still plan to quilt for others, I will no longer custom quilt.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year!

I found the snowflakes at Lowes Home Improvement.  Just had to share as they are just two cute!  A pack of four on sale now for less than $7.

I forgot to show you the mini quilt I made for my DIL's birthday.

Bailey is eight months now and "goes to work" with me in the quilt studio now that he is learning his manners.  Though, look at this photo with his feet on the wall!  He is so funny.

Happy Holidays

I like to have at least one photo with my post.  This stocking was made for my DIL using several Pinterest tutorials; I kind of winged it.  I'm pleased with how it turned out and I hope she likes it.

These past months I was busy, busy quilting for others.  I normally take December off but not this year. Thank you to all who choose me as your quilter.  I've got the best clients!

My laptop croaked and now replaced.  I had XP and am now learning Windows 8 with touch screen.  my photos in Dropbox, then stuff in a mysterious Cloud?!

Then my cell phone was due to be replaced and started having its own personal issues of freezing up and battery draining quickly.  So I've had to replace that and did opt for the new IPhone 6plus so I could see screen better.  Dare I mention the Candy Crush addiction?

You know how luck comes in threes?  I suppose bad luck too.  The monitor to my longarm died.   I was only down a couple days before having it replaced.

One year ago today we moved into our new home though we the little black cloud of my husband's new found cancer and surgery followed by a half year of chemo.  We are glad to have that behind us and this holiday season have decorated our "new home."  So much excitement here!

Wishing you all Happy Holidays!

Show, Share and Who?

Temecula Quilt Co. blogs FREE patterns called,  "Little Letters."  Most use 1.5" strips making it easy for me since I've got bins of scrappy strips.

I remember Carol telling me this is a Fig Tree pattern called, "Twirl."  I quilted it for her with a Windy design.
Here's a few more quilts to share.

Whirlpool Quilting

Flutter Quilting

Shadows Quilting (love the look of gum balls on this one)

Modern Circles Quilting

A peek of this for now....check out the Cocoa Cups Quilting!

It's 32 degrees outside.  Brrrr!  Definitely time for hot cocoa and announce the winner of the Snowman pattern by Red Button Quilt Co. and those adorable snowman face buttons you see here.

Thanks to all who entered.  LORIS you are my winner!  Please email me your address.

SNOWMAN .... It's Giveaway Time!

I didn't get the best pictures.

When I take photos I try to use natural daylight backlighting so you can see the quilting.

Semi-custom with two different snowflakes and circles for snowballs in the inner border.

Again, I use lighting to my advantage of showing the quilting.  When this quilt is seen without the back light you see the embroidery and quilt blocks.  An example is the first photo.  I get emails asking me what kind of camera I use since my quilting shows well.  I use my iPhone AND good light beyond the quilt.

So, a few weeks ago I spotted this sweet table topper on Anne's blog, Cottons and Wool Thanks Anne for letting me use your photos for my post.

Oh my word, snowman buttons!  Now I really needed this one!
I caved, I ordered!  The pattern comes with the buttons!!!! can order extra button packs!

Emily at was kind and sent me an extra pattern to GIVEAWAY!  Just look at those little snowmen buttons.  Because I hope you will visit Emily's website, I am asking for you to take a look there, come back here...what did you like, did you cave and order?  I'd love to know!

In my previous post I asked you to mention the word SNOWMAN for an extra entry.  Those are now in the hat and no further entries on previous post but do feel free to comment.

Feel free to spread word on this giveaway.  The more who visit the better for Emily right?

The winner should be announced by Monday.  Some comments left in previous post are NO REPLY BLOGGER.  Bummer if you win, check your settings.

A Bit Of Sharing...Still with Me?

Look at this sweet gift!  Jobi's husband made it for me!

I've been the worse blogger these past months, haven't I?  Lots to show, say and share and can't squeeze it all in this evening but will share a bit.

There has been a lot of quilting.  Here are a few of the "frosted" quilts that are now home being bound by their owners.

I wanted to keep every one of these!  Awesome eye candy right?  More to share but these were readily available at this moment.

Very sweet gift from my friend Karen at Log Cabin Quilter ...and some others I hadn't photographed yet.  I gave my wool to Karen when she was here this Summer.  She is amazing at just how fast and how much she whips up...and spoils me so good!

Bailey is 6 mos old now and was "tutored".  I'm so glad this cone is gone as I'm not sure how much more my legs could have taken being hit.  Ouch!

If you Instagram you will also find me there!  In the meantime, I'm quilting like crazy getting client quilts done in time for gift giving.  I have room for edge to edge work but you must get your tops here!

There will be a sweet give away on my next post!  I'd have posted tonight but forgot the photo.  If you like snowman you will want this!  It is good!  Those who comment here get an extra's that? Be sure in your comment to say the word SNOWMAN.

Until next time...get stitching!

Jobi's batik beauty!
Whirlpools...pretty colors!
Can you see the crabs quilted in the swirls?  It seemed appropriate since the Moda line was called, Lucy's Crab Shack.
Two mini fingernail polish quilts!  How cute are these!
Bread Basket quilting nearly mimics the fabric.  Loved this texture on this quilt!
Roses and leaves quilted a bit dense for that aged look.  Simply used Hobbs 80/20 batting with Sew Fine thread.
A bit of custom too.

I'm quilting as fast as I can with holidays coming it has been busy, busy...I love it!

Time to Catch Up

Mr. Bailey got a haircut.  What a difference from the teddy bear looking pooch!  He can see so much better and so much easier on us for grooming.
He is busy, very busy and at nearly five months old already learning so much.
How cute are these?!  My friend Karen of Log Cabin Quilter gifted these to me on her visit a few weeks ago.  Her husband is so sweet too!
I don't always post the little gifts I find tucked in quilt tops I receive or after as surprise bonus mail but I am this one!  Donna had me quilt her beauty below and then this packet arrived unexpectedly.  My mind in overdrive as to how did I forget she was sending another top.  She really surprised me with my first holiday card and beautiful fabrics to get my own holiday project started.  Thank you Donna!
Here's her quilt top.  This matches my home!
Love these flowers I quilted on Cyndi's.
Bread Basket quilting too.
Love, love, love the back!
Fall quilting for Lorene.
Shannon's very first quilt...I do believe I've got her hooked.
Then there is Betty's gorgeous antique quilt with my Baptist Fans.  This top belonged to her Great Great Grandmother.  Betty spent many hours repairing this top from 1800's.

Quilts have been arriving as everyone seems to be getting ready to gift for holiday season.  Are you ready?  As a reminder I have a small quilt special posted in previous post....check it out!
