Bittersweet Briar Quilted

This is a Kim Diehl pattern called, "Bittersweet Briar" that my friend Shirley pieced using both wool and cotton fabrics.  The last few days were spent quilting and binding it.  Quilting black thread on that black background wasn't easy on my eyes and to get a decent photo proved a challenge too.

I tried to get a picture with natural daylight behind the quilt so you can see the quilting in the black background.  I just sort of did my whimsical sort of fill with flowers here and there.

Thanks for all the rave reviews of my blog's new look!  A huge thank you goes out to my friend Kim Brackett of Magnolia Bay Quilts for her design ideas and the long hours she spent making my blog look great!  I love it!  It's me...totally me!

Schnibbles Parade Entry "Hat Trick"

Take a look at my fun little Schnibbles quilt called, "Hat Trick."  When time permits I like to participate in the monthly parade of Schnibbles and you can learn more here if you aren't familiar and as always you can jump in and play along anytime!
I used mostly Jo Morton fabrics and I did reduce the size of the quilt this time.  I love it!

My regular readers will certainly notice some changes to my blog in the coming days ahead.  Thanks to a good friend of mine she is giving my blog a much needed makeover!

Sweet Table Topper Can Be Yours

Hot off the longarm and just needs bound is this cute little table topper that measures about 16.5 x 16.5.   The corners are mitered and I added the inside little border for interest.  This would be cute framed too.
The other quilt you see rolled is a smaller version of Schnibbles "Hat Trick" pattern that will be shared later this week.  Because I had plenty of backing loaded I wanted to try out this quilt that has been haunting me to make.  I plan to make more and eventually sell them on my Etsy account I named, Quilt Hollow Quilter.  This one is for sale and I'm asking $45 includes postage to USA only.  SOLD Thank you!  I'm taking orders if your interested.

Flea Market Find

A friend of mine likes to sew with a variety of vintage machines. I quickly sent her a photo of this one since they asked $30 for it. She said to get it and I did for $25. It's got lots of attachments too.

Frosted Bunnies

Here's a quilt that I've been waiting to share with you.  This one is called, "The Adventures of Harrington and Hannah" and is a pattern that Michelle of The Raspberry Rabbits designed and offers  FREE on her website.  In fact, I was just there this morning and see that she has a few kits left so HOP on over there!
Michelle pretty much left the quilting up to me as she wanted to be surprised.  Because her quilt had little hearts here and there throughout the quilt and I know just how much she loves her bunnies I just had to toss in some fun background fill with hearts and bunny ears.  Then kept the sashing simple with cross hatching.
What a difference the quilting aka frosting makes to a quilt!  Marcie at Patchalot Patterns is the first person I quilted for to ever call my quilting the frosting and that word just sort of stuck with me.

Please while your here will you follow me through BLOGLOVIN with a simple click of the button on the top right of my side bar.  Thank you!

A Swirl of Piecing!

Here's a peek of the quilt I'm piecing for the blog book tour.  When the book arrived I knew immediately what quilt pattern I would make with the jelly roll batiks that had been gifted to me by friends.  Don't you just love that swirl of piecing?!  I'm jazzed up about this quilt and can't wait to share more!

Lack of Posting

There are a few things I want to post about but can't just yet. I'm checking in with a quick post to say hello, I'm still here.  I've been quilting and also piecing a  NEW fun quilt for an upcoming blog book tour.

I love a post to have a photo so I share with you this very special quilt I received from my friend Karen.  It's one of my favorites!
