SCRAPS! They Must Go!

I'm paralyzed by scraps tucked in baskets, boxes, tins and drawers.  I also have bits and pieces I saved as 1/2 sq triangles to make small quilts.  My scraps are just too good to toss yet I'm overwhelmed by them.  They need a home to a quilter who is willing to pay for the postage.  I will cram lots of them into a medium or large flat rate box for you and perhaps tuck in a few other surprises too!  If you are interested please let me know asap.  If I get more than one or two people interested I'll draw names according to how many boxes I fill.  Please remember I do ask you to pay the postage and in return you get a box of surprises!

Thank you to those who want my scraps!  I've sent emails to four of you who expressed interest.  I'm filling boxes and if I find I have more I will pull another name or two!

Congrats to Quilt Fiesta, Mary, Lynn and Sandie check your email for details.

I know the feeling. I just got rid of a bunch of stuff in the sewing room and organized my scraps by color. Just commenting I can't possibly add any more fabric to my stash.

I'm sure you have awesome scraps, and I hope they go to a good home. But not my overcrowded home!

Instant interest in scraps. Look at the quick list of replies! Fabric is fabric, and anything not ours is new. No thanks on your kind offer (dealing with overflowing bins and bags myself), but enjoy the sorting and tossing and boxing. This is a great way to begin your new year.

I know how you feel! I spent 6 hours yesterday cleaning my scraps. Turns out I have 4 yard bags to donate. Luckily I was able to make a couple of phone calls and get the names of some local women who will put them to good use!

I love getting other people's scraps, but you don't need to include me. You've got plenty of takers! : )

I would love to pay postage for scraps! Scraps deserve a better name. It's such a negative connotation attributed to such a lovely item. ;)

Good luck clearing out some of yours.

LOL tell you what, if you don't have enough scraps for everyone I'll send you my scraps then you can include them in the boxes you send out...unfortunately it would probably take a semi to send all my scraps.

Janet said...

Great idea on your scraps ... I just need someone to come cut my own scraps into useable sizes!

But Sue, could you send me some of your quilting talent??

I love scraps, especially other peoples'. Would be happy to pay postage. String quilts are on my to-do list for this year. So if your current box of scraps are already spoken for, perhaps I can sign up for the next one. We'll start a Scrap Adoption Society! I'll even were a SAS button if need be. LOL

I am happy to pay postage. I do not have scraps, don't laugh. I see all these articles on scrap bins and scrap storage and I just laugh. I always use up what I have for a project and if there are left overs make a pillow sham. I would like to have some to create a few quilts I have seen. I am hoping to do a pair of quilts for young sisters made from a scrappy pattern. So they will have the same pattern but the scraps will make each individual quilt their own.

I love using scraps, but know they can be overwhelming. I am using some of mind in a scrappy quilt that I am making. I am sure I would love your scraps, but don't include me in the drawing .... need to reduce my own scraps.

Great idea Mary. This way they are out of your house and getting put to good use.
