If you read my previous post you will find the first Kathleen's Doll Quilt that I quilted. I loved it so much that I decided to whip this one up. There is still a bit more quilting to do in the setting triangles and corners before adding on binding.
They say (whoever they are) that what you do on the first day of the year is pretty much what you'll be doing most of the year. My day was spent doing a bit of quilting, ate leftover meals to clean out the fridge, and spent majority of the day going through old paperwork, files, magazines and the like. We even listed a few things on Craig's list to clear out some unwanted clutter. Bring on the New Year!! I wish you the best for yours!

Oh, Mary, how cute, cute and more cute!
What did I do the first day of 2013? Made a pillow for my 2013 Christmas box.
Happy 2013. Happy Stitching. Happy "sell your house" year.
Your quilt is adorable! I love how you can make a quilt and have it quilted all within a few days! Sounds like you had a wonderful start to the New Year!
Sweet little quilt! I worked on my first NewFO project while doing some housework - holiday clean up a little late as I was ill - but done.
That is a beautiful quilt and beautiful quilting. I was thinking it might be smart for me to start with some small quilts to practice on and then move onto my larger quilt tops.
Debbie
both the purple one and this one are so pretty!
Another beautiful little quilt, Mary.
Boy, I am going to sew up a storm in 2013 if "they" are right. Yesterday I made up for being sick the previous week and not getting much sewing done. : )
You certainly whipped up a beauty. Love the double heart motif.
I organized on the first day of the year and hope that is how my year continues!
That is a beautiful little quilt. The colors are wonderful.
Well...let's see...I watched the Rose Parade, did some sewing, laundry, cooking and then a couple of the kids and grandchildren came by to visit. Guess my year will be "ditto" for the last. Yeah!
Beautiful doll quilt!
I got some quilting in yesterday....just to be sure I'll be doing it all year! No housework, though! Ha!
What a lovely little quilt! I'm happy to see you found some machine time for yourself! :-) Have a happy day!
Beauty! eh!!!!!!
Judging by what you did today, it's going to be a VERY busy year! *wink*
Love the colors on version #2 of Kathleen's Doll Quilt.
I did some piecing on my civil war quilt and finished the redwork for a table runner so hopefully this will keep me doing quilting related projects all year long. Oh, an some organizing too!

Your quilt is adorable! So happy you got time to sew for yourself! I too hit the sewing room and a perfect way to spend a day with minus 17 degree weather! Looking forward to seeing all your projects this year!
Beautiful quilts! I just may have to try one too! I spent the first day of the year stitching and listening to great music! I sure wish I could spend the whole year doing just that! :-)
Beautiful little quilt! Love the colors a whole bunch!
Well if that's true about the first day of the year, I'm doomed because I napped :D Come to think of it, that's what I did last January 1...and yep old age called for napping a whole lot last year! LOL
That is a lovely quilt!!!
Happy New Year!
Always, Queenie
What a adorable little quilt ! SO this is what you were piecing :-D
Your detail quilting is just perfect for this.
I also have been organizing , cleaning & put our living room set on Craigslist
Love the little quilt and the fabrics you used!
Hmmm...I may be spending the year exercising, quilting, cooking and spending time with friends...works for me.
I love this little quilt! The colour combination is perfect!
Sweet doll quilt Mary :) It's so cold here I'm considering moving to Antarctica...it was -42 F here last night on our back deck at 9:30...brrrrr. And it felt colder because of the wind chill!
Oh love yours too. I spent New Year's Day eating and hanging out. I guess that's what I'm destined to do all year... :)
So cute! I've been busy sewing try to catch up on my Jo's Little Women Club. Happy New Year, Mary!
I love your new quilt, I like that you "whipped" it up.
It sounds like a terrific New Years Day.
I think I neglected to wish you a Happy Birthday last week. So, Happy Birthday!!!
Very cute! I love the quilt design in the border.
I've heard that saying all my life. I was super lazy on the 1st. Do you eat turnip greens and black-eyed peas on New Year's Day? I think you're supposed to eat hog jowls, too, but I have to draw the line there and have ham instead. :-)
Hope you have a wonderful and productive 2013!
Tricky, tricky!
You whipped that one up fast. Sounds like a good start to the new year with so many things accomplished. I'm off to do a little piecing and quilting.
Such a sweet little quilt, Mary. It is so you!
Gorgeous! Just gorgeous!
