Peppermint Wreath Tree Skirt

My tree skirt is nearly finished.  I'll hand stitch the binding to the back this evening and then our tree can go up.  After giving this tree skirt some thought I decided to add batting and quilt a snowflake meandering design.  I figured adding the batting will prevent the tree skirt from scrunging up as gifts are placed on top of it.  This pattern is by All Through The Night called, "Peppermint Wreaths" and finishes 52" round.  Included in the pattern is also a smaller 26" version for a table topper.  (on my bucket list!)
Here'a a closer picture of the snowflake quilting and now that I'm looking at this I may add some red buttons to the center of the pinwheels.
Our neighborhood deer spent the majority of the day here in our yard yesterday.  I was quite surprised to see he even feels comfortable enough to nap!

Oh, Mary, ths is a beauty! Do not put any gifts under your tree...put them beside the tree, 'cause this skirt is too yummy to cover!

That is a beautiful skirt, would love to make some, but I can't put up my big tree, with the obnoxious kitties.

My goodness, that is one tame beautiful deer. Your tree skirt came out wonderfully. What type of batting did you use?

One good thing about not cutting a hole in the middle is if sometime you want to put it on a table instead of using for a tree skirt to would be just as cute. I like the red button idea, you should do that. I really love your tree skirt, very nice and you got it done so fast.

You've done it again! Now I want one too!

It's beautiful, Mary and I think the quilting makes it even prettier.

Are you going to slit it so it fits around the tree or leave it just as it is to sit under the tree stand? Decisions, decisions, huh?

Can't wait to see your tree!

It looks beautiful, Mary. I know you will be happy that you put the batting in it, even though it takes up more room in the Christmas storage bins. The buttons are a great idea.

So the deer doesn't mind having his picture taken?

I love your tree skirt! So festive and beautiful.

That deer is amazing. It is so tame. Deer here are rarely even seen as they are frightened of people.
