Quick Gifts

I've had these unfinished quilt blocks for quite sometime and decided they would become mug rugs.  Since I had a large backing loaded on the longarm to quilt a bunch of mini quilts I quilted these quickly too.  I've been spending my evenings stitching down bindings.  The mini quilts will be shared in a later post so I can enter the final month of Christmas Through the Year.  (better late than never--it's crunch time!)
Mary sent me this photo of sweet little Charlotte.  (the kitty that I needed a home for a few months ago)  What do you think Charlotte is saying to her older brother?

Beautiful mug rugs and I received mine today and love it. That was so thoughtful of you to remember my bday.

How do you manage to make something as simple as a mug rug look so stunning?
I think kitty is saying, "Didn't anyone teach you--always wash your paws before eating?"

She is saying..."Mom said to wash up for dinner" :-)

LOVE those mug rugs...especially the one with the feather wreath

Oh sweet Charlotte. What a face. I too have been scrambling to get some gifts finished for CTTY. I'll have at least 2 things to show for my efforts. Your mug rugs are very nice. Great use of orphan blocks.

Your mug rugs are wonderful. I think the wee kitty is saying, "What do you mean there's no manicures at this spa!"
Have a great day.

I love the little mug rugs!! I really wish we lived closer - you could teach me how to use my long arm. Your quilting is always amazing. Is yours computerized or all manual??

Great idea for the orphan blocks, I have a few somewhere I just might have to dig them up. I have the same kittie bowl, mine is used for water so I'm guessing she's saying "Stop picking on me or I'll splash you!"

You make the coolest small blocks, Mary! They always look so detailed and of course the quilting makes them look even better...if that's possible.

Charlotte's saying..."I told you that I didn't mind sharing but you could have left me at least one mouthful. Geeze."

Hi Mary! It's been a bit since I commented but I've been by each day to visit. My hubby decided I needed my sewing room upstairs where it was warm and he is adding new carpet with heavy pad so it will be easier on my feet and by next week I will be in my new sewing room!!! Point is, in the process of pulling out my project boxes, I ran one I had completely forgotten about. It is filled with lovely Orphan Blocks of all types and sizes. Even some Thimbleberries. I also have enough 12 1/2" sampler style blocks to make a full sized scrappy quilt. Must have had a really huge "senior moment" to forget about all those lovelys. But, my first order of business when I get my new room organized will be to get some mugrugs done. Isn't it amazing what we forget about until we start rummaging through things, LOL. Your quilting is as beautiful as ever, even on the tiniest projects. Hugs....

Your mug rugs are just too darn cut. Especially that purple one. The way you quilted it is Fan Tabulous!!!

those little mugs rugs are adorable...but not as cute as a kitty in her new home!

I think she's saying a little mousie would fit perfectly in here...
