Distractions and Free!

Here's the story.  My oldest son and fiance got a kitty, paid for all the vet bills, bought numerous kitty supplies only to find out one week later that he is not only allergic to kitty but his asthma started acting up.  So yesterday morning my son brought kitty to my home terribly upset that he can't keep her.
She is a cutie and so soft!  (he has bathed her twice in hypo-allergenic shampoo in the one week he had her and says she does real well in the bath)  She was born with 6 toes on front paws.  She only weighed 2.2 at the vet last week.  I'd love to keep her, I really would but at same time I worry that my husband's asthma will start acting up (he's taking weekly allergy shots) then would my own son be able to visit my home with "his" kitty here?  As is, the neighbors cat adopted me though she is an outdoor hunter kitty.

I say distractions because I won't allow her in my quilt studio and she is one playful kitty.  These photos were taken when she was falling asleep on my younger son. (who leaves for college next week..another distraction from my quilting this week).

If you live in or near NC and would love to have her or know of somebody who would love to give her a special home please let me know will ya?!  She comes with her litter box, litter, bedding, toys, kitty food, shampoo and proof of papers from vet visit and is FREE.  I'll be sad to see her go and hopefully won't get to attached to her before finding her a new home.  I beg you....help!

If NM wasn't so far from NC, I would take her in a heartbeat! She's darling and I am sure you will find the right home for her quickly.

Awww! Six toed kitties are the best! We have the same allergy issues here though. My granddaughter is horribly allergic. I hope you can find her a good home soon!

Hope you can find someone to take her. My son has cats and when I visit him by the end of 2 days I can't breath so I will have to pass even though it sure is cute. Never seen one with 6 toes either.

My ex loves cats but is deathly allergic to them. He had outdoor cats. I did some research and found that its their saliva that has dried on thier fur from grooming that is often the allergent. Every morning I would break open and large gelcap of vitimin E and squeeze it into a little saucer of mild. Kitties loved it and within a week Mr. was able to pick up his cats and play with them with out any allergic reaction. The vit. E changed the chemistry of the saliva.
Something you might try while you have a felion in the house.
Have a better day.
Always, Queenie

To put it mildly, Dolly will not allow cats within 84 feet of the house. However, I will ask a friend who does love kitties. She sure is a cutie.

If we were anywhere near, we'd love to take her! She'd be a great companion for Baxter and she looks absolutely adorable!

What a cutie! It's too bad your son had to give her up. I'd take her in a heartbeat if I were closer. I hope you find a home for her soon.

I'm sure she'll find a good home where the owners do not have asthma!!

I am NOT going to let my dh see this post, or we would be in the car on our way to NC. Where in NC, by the way? We have three cats, and that's about one too many for a small house. Good Luck finding a good home for her. She certainly is adorable.

Perhaps your local vet could recommend someone who is looking for a kitty?

She sure looks like a cutie and too bad you couldn't keep her.

I'd take her in a heartbeat if we lived closer. Dang! She is soooo cute and we are currently dog and catless. I hope you find her a good family soon.

She's a sweetie, and my grands all insist that we need a kittie. Illinois is just too far away.

Hemingway's cats all had 6 toes ... and the cats living at his house in Key West still have 6 toes.

We brought a little starving stray kitty home from vacation at Emerald Isle one year with the hope of finding it a new home. Instead we are going year # 8. My doctor said it would be good to build up resistance to my severe cat allergy. So I'm not too bad around him, but still horribly allergic to every other cat in the world.
I'll see if I can think of someone who may want a cat (other than my kids).

My "Jack" kitty has 6 toes and I just love to hold him and pet his toes. LOL I'm such a cat person that if I lived closer to you, she's have a new home! Good luck and keep us posted.

Aw Mary....my heart is breaking! Really, it is. That is such an adorable photo of Maude, and I really, really want her to live with us. If it weren't for Wilson's heart problem, she'd be "home" at the end of this month. I hope that you can work something out with Wilma in Asheville (post above me)!

Cyndi

How is that pretty baby? Found a home yet.?

polydactyl cats are also known as Hemmingway cats! He had several when he lived in Miami. They frequently also have stubby or crooked tails. We have a poly that's adopted us. Strickly an outside cat. Miserable in the house. Great hunter. We had her fixed after some one dumped her pregnant on us. Wasn't hard to find homes for the 4 kittens.

Mary, you can take her to Cat Angles Adoption in Cary. They are a no kill adoption cat service. My hubby volunteers there. Call them at 919-463-9586. Call first and speak to them. You have a Hemmingway cat. We had one and she was so sweet. Good luck and let us know how this comes out. I miss our time at Plain and Simple Jo's club. Hugs, Jane

Oh, my gosh! How adorable. And she's gray! I wish you could keep her. I was looking through the comments on this post, and it looks like there were a couple of people who are interested in giving her a home.

Katie said...

Oh no! I can relate. I have a severe cat allergy. I'm sure she'll end up in a good home.

I wish you could keep her! I love her and would take her regardless of the distance but we can't take another cat right now. Please let us know some good news soon. My vet has helped me find homes for the strays that seem to find me from time to time. The vet has a facebook page and they created cute flyers with photos which we all posted in various places. Please screen carefully for a good owner so this sweetheart gets a wonderful forever home!

Oh my heart would break if I had to let her go too! What a sweetheart she looks. I hope you can find a loving home for her so that it helps to soften the blow of having to part with her.

I'm in the Raleigh area and I wish I could take her but my own kitty would not appreciate it. I've done the next best thing I can - I've shared the post on Facebook. Hopefully someone will step up.

I live in Lewisville and would love to take her but not sure I can right now. I have been wanting a second kitty but the timing is not good.
