Schnibbles "Doc"

Here is my Schnibbles "Doc" quilt top to enter in the Schnibbles Parade.  This quilt was FUN to make and I wish I could have quilted it before relatives came yesterday for their visit this week.  I really made a point to steal moments to piece this top. I love it!  The fabrics I used was Kansas Troubles "Wrapped in Paisley" and "Stitches on the Oregon Trail."

My previous post has my entry into the Blogger's Quilt Festival that Amy's Creative Side is hosting.  Hundreds of quilting bloggers have participated in submitting quilts making for some great blog hopping!  Entries are now closed and it is time to nominate/vote for your favorites.   My entry is #250. (hint)  You can vote for several bloggers so GO...enjoy!

Blogger's Quilt Festival Entry

I wanted to join in on the Bloggers Quilt Festival and am sharing a quilt that I have shown in the past.  Several of my blog friends may remember it and those who don't may enjoy it for the first time.  One of the reasons I joined the Bloggers Quilt Festival is to meet more blog friends in blogland.  I hope if you come for a visit you will stay and see more of my quilting.

My entry is a very simple Schnibbles pattern called, "Hot Cross" however I've named mine "My Sweet Addiction."  I was so pleased that I custom quilted it to keep for myself.

I'm a longarm quilter for those new to my blog. I don't have alot of piecing time to make larger quilts so I have this little addiction to Schnibble quilts.  A Schnibble pattern to me is "instant gratification" quilting; usually the patterns require two charm packs and a little extra additional fabric.  This enables me to "try out" different fabric lines without breaking the bank.
Schnibbles quilts make great wall-hangings and table toppers.  This one measures 30" x 30".  This is one of my favorites.

This little quilt top is from Pam Buda's Homespun Quilts blog.  It is called, "Busy Work."  I added an additional border making this quilt top 19.5" square.  The pattern is FREE and can be found HERE.

Now for the winners of the Cozy Quarters patterns from previous post.  I really enjoyed reading the comments about bartering. I have to apologize if I haven't responded to all who entered; in the last week I've attended three graduations and have one more to go this week.

Okay...back to the winners!
Kim you have first choice of pattern, Becky will be select from the last two, and Jen gets the leftover.  (sorry Jen...but hey you won!)

Enjoy your week.  Next post I'll be sharing my Schnibbles Doc quilt top!  How are you coming along on yours?

Give Away Day Thanks to Designs by Cozy Quarters!

A few post back I mentioned a barter I made with my no-blog client Deb.  She made two!  I quilted both and kept one!  When Deb sent me her top I fell in love with it!  I just had to have one!   The pattern is by Phyllis Paul of Designs by Cozy Quarters and is called, "In All Its Glory" in case you want to order one for yourself.

I contacted Phyllis of Cozy Quarters to tell her I had just quilted two more of her quilts.  In the past I quilted her design "Homespun Christmas" that you can see HERE.   This was Deb's too!

Phyllis was kind enough to send me a few of her patterns to share with you.  The above is actually more than a pattern it is also a kit to make the little quilt.  (There's background and wool bits in the bag.)

This is the pattern "Homespun Christmas" for the quilt I quilted for Deb HERE.  Would you like to win this one?
Perhaps it is this pattern called, "Traditions" that catches your eye.

I feel like spreading the wealth and will choose three winners.  Those who commented on "In All Its Glory" blog post HERE before today's date have an additional entry.  Please visit Designs by Cozy Quarters and perhaps sign up for her newsletter.

To enter leave a comment about your favorite barter.  The first winner chosen will have first pick, and so on.  I will TRY to choose winners on Monday afternoon sometime.  I've got a crazy week ahead with two more graduations (two down and two to go)  This and my new permanent crown on Tuesday.  Did I mention my in-laws will be here next weekend?

Country Homecoming Quilt A-Long

I'm experiencing some frustrations at moment with my sideways, window and doorless picture!!  But I wanted to be sure to post today with Anne and friends.  Several of us bloggers are working simultaneously on making Country Homecoming Quilt above.  Well, actually they are well ahead of me as I only made one block and it isn't even finished.  You can see some beautiful blocks at Anne's and at Paulette's blog as I see she posted some good ones today!

On the frame next is Val's beautiful Swiss Chocolate quilt.  I wish you all a Happy Mother's Day!!

Busy Work Blocks

Pam Buda of Heartspun Quilts recently shared a Pocket Patchwork/Busy Work pattern on her blog.  It was a six part sew along that will finish at only 15".  I had one block cut and set aside with every intention to participate, then had quilts coming in and other distractions such as my Schnibbles Summers Day aka Autumn Day from my previous post.

Recently Pam shared the finished quilt and proposed a giveaway of a fat eighth bundle of her newest line of fabric Heart of the Prairie.  If your up to the challenge of making your own Busy Work mini quilt check out details at her blog.  The deadline isn't until July 7th and all you need is a photo of your quilt top sent to her by that date.  SO....I found the bits from my first block and stitched a few more.  These are 6.5" unfinished.

May is a very busy month here in the hollow.  We have four graduations to attend (one was this past weekend, one this evening, one this coming Sat and one next Thurs).  Then I have in-laws who are coming for a visit in two short weeks.

In between quilting I've been piecing my Schnibbles Doc and will get to share that soon!  Other than that....busy times family wise.
