Fun Day and Fun News!

Sandi and I made a trip to the Forsyth Quilter's Guild Show this past Friday. It was wonderful to see all the quilts and meet up with some blog friends. Carrie P., Cathi and myself; Sandi was our photographer. (Thanks Sandi!) We are all standing in Cathi's booth of gorgeous wool! I wanted it all but was good and just bought some black for now. Cathi does mail order too.

I'm sure Carrie will be blogging many of the tops so I will leave that task to her. However this was too funny for me not to share!

See that little block there in the middle? That's me!! I swapped blocks quite some time ago and hadn't done a thing with mine. I was walking through looking at quilts and even told Sandi, "Hey...I did a swap similiar to this one."

This swapper finished her quilt....and it was quite fun to see my name in it!

Cheryl Wall's new book is in production and will be released in June! Woo Hoo! I'm so excited because I was the lucky one who quilted many of the quilts in her book! You can take a sneak peek of the quilts at this link. Be sure to click on the little arrows below the book. Which is your favorite?

How neat to see your sigi block!
Lucky you to have your quilting published in someones book, next it will be your book. I have only just started to play with wool felt & I am very impressed, lovely to work with with.
Wishing you a fun day!

You're not going to believe this, Mary but I see my block there too! It's the fifth row down, second in from the right side. I haven't done anything with mine either. Shame on us, huh?

Congratulations for quilting Cheryl's quilts. When I called you this afternoon and asked, "Is this the world famous Mary Flynn from Quilt Hollow?", I wasn't kidding.

How fun to spend a day with friends. Wish I could have been there with you gals.

How fun! I joined a sig block swap and I haven't done anything with my blocks either. They are just sitting in their padded envelope. Sounds like you had a fun day too!

I did that block exchange too. I need to put mine together. I am sure my block is in there somewhere.
It was great to see you and Sandi again.
I love Cathi's booth.

My name should be somewhere in that quilt and I've yet to put my quilt together! Cathi's turned out great.

How nice for you to meet up with some fellow quilters/bloggers. Fun times.

It's fun to see your name in another quilt. I have some swap blocks sitting around (not the siggy swap).
I remember you talking about doing Cheryl's quilts, you should be very proud to be published.

That is so cool! I did a siggy block swap and it is my lap quilt I use in the living room. It is so fun to see the blocks from my distant friends. I made a few new friends in the swap also. I would love to see the quilts made by the other swappers.

Glad you had fun at the quilt show. My favorite in the book is the nine patch with the vase appliques. Did you quilt that one?

Looks like you had fun at the QS!! Cheryl's new book looks incredible...and it seemed like way more than 13 quilts featured!! My favourite...the black one with the baskets in the corners and the one with the vine with stars and berries circling the entire quilt!! They were all lovely but these two really sparked my fancy!! This book is right up my alley!!

Favorite, are you kidding me? My favorite was whichever one I happened to be viewing. I know I will have to have this book--for the beautiful quilts and the inspiration your wonderful quilting will give me!

Beautiful quilts! Love #25, the postage stamp stars with the charming little checkered border. The quilting is beautiful. What a neat project to be a part of. I'll bet you're thrilled! Congratulations.

How cool to see your siggie block! Well I love so many quilts in the book I decided to sign up to be notified as soon as I can buy it! I will do some for ME! I seem to sew and give away more than I end up with!;-)

How exciting to have your quilting featured in a book. Hard to pick one favorite, although I do really like the nine patch with the beehive and the basket.
I have to get out of Cary more often, it looks like it was a fun show!

So sorry that I missed you at the show, Mary! I went on Sunday, it was a great show. I am thrilled to pieces for you and your quilted pieces in the new book, they are all stunning. It's hard to find a favorite but I do love the one with the interlocking squares and the applique border. Well done!

You're lookin' good girl! I cannot believe you walked out with ONLY black!! Seriously lol!! If I'd been with you, that bag of wool would have required two dudes to lug it out :) Have pre-ordered my book.....:)
