When Moda Bake Shop posted this little pincushion I just knew I would have to make one.My guys took off to see a movie this evening so I took advantage of my alone time and whipped this Cathedral Window Pincushion up in less than 30 minutes. It took me more time just to figure out which fabrics to use for my "trial run" and I am pleased with the result. Of course now I'm thinking if I made a bunch of these up to place in a wooden bowl how cute would that be?
Did you see Riley Blake Designs has a bunch of pincushion tutorials? I've got my eye on this one!

Your Cathedral Window Pincushion is adorable. That row of flowers centered so precisely makes it! That Riley Blake pincushion pattern that you want to make is by Shelly who is a retreat mate of mine! Small quilt world!
What a sweet pincushion, Mary. I just found Riley Blake pincushion tutorials yesterday and I want to make the same one!
That is just beautiful..way to nice to stick pins into...
LOVE LOVE!!!!!! So cute, isn't that sometimes the way, it takes so long to choose the fabric! We are spoiled for choice.
How cute! I haven't made a Christmas gift yet this month, and I think this just may be the answer. thanks!
I love the color choice - want to make one of these, too.
Cute, I saw that tutorial, did it really only take 1/2 hour? I may try it?!
Love your pincushion..fabrics are wonderful!
Oh Mary, that pincushion is on my to do list...Kelli and I were both planning on making one!
Love it! I find picking out the fabric sometimes takes longer than making project.

That is a wonderful piece and a nice way to try that block.

Mary, it is stunning! Thanks for the link
Cute pin cushion. I need a new one since I've just created my sewing space. Thanks for the tip on the tutorial!
Have a great week, Mary!
Good evening, Mary,
One can never have enough pinkeeps!
Have a happy Monday. ~Natalie
Mary, that's a wonderful pincushion. A bowlful would be delightful.
I've been wanting to try one of those too. It is just gorgeous. YES, a cluster of them would be fabulous.
I think you should give the other pattern a try. It looks like it would be fun.
Irresistable, Mary! Love it. I agree, a bowlful would be cute too.
Thirty minutes!?! Are you kidding? I'm sure I would manage to double or triple that at the very least. That star pattern is cute, too. A bowl full of cushions would be charming!
L*OV*E I*T!
Hugs from Holland ~

Mary, that is so cute. And such Perfect Petal Placement!
Nice pin keep and great color combo.
Love this cathedral window pincushion! What a unique method of putting it together ... I must try it but I think I'd need more than a half hour. I've been enjoying Riley Blake's posts on pincushions and yesterday made her triangular log cabin. With all these great ideas circulating my pincushion collection is quickly expanding. It takes me forever to choose fabrics and it's my downfall.
Very cute, I printed off those directions too. Was it very hard to make? I like the one that you put a link to also. I am going to be checking those out. It will be to see what pincushions are shown.
so cute! this is about all the CW I care to do. I love seeing them, but can't imagine doing one -
Love it! Thanks for the link and the inspiration.
That pincushion is on my "make" list. Looks great, Mary! I may have to make one for my swap partner... hmmmm.
oh yes - a bowl full of these would be so cute!!!!
Prettiest little thing I have seen today.....LOVE it!
Looks great. What did you think of the pattern?
Oooh, I'd seen the Cathedral Window pincushion, but not Riley Blake's Site -- thanks for sharing the link!
Pretty! I keep saying I'm going to try a cathedral window, but they intimidate me. Maybe starting with a pin cushion is just the thing for me!!
Very lovely! The colors are especially nice!
Very cool! I love it! I've never done a cathedral window block before--since you made yours so quickly, I'm guessing it's not as hard as I fear.
Thanks for coming by my blog and checking out the Tucson quilt show!
