It's Me, Mary at Quilt Hollow....remember me?

Here we are nearly the end of February and I have posted little. I can tell you that I have been quilting. Most have been simply edge-to-edge and there is one quilt in particular that I look forward to sharing with you but not yet; perhaps this coming weekend.

I'm not the best blogger this month. Thanks to those who ask where I'm at and if I'm okay. I've been poking around in blogland but not good about leaving comments and especially now with that new STUPID word verification thing. At one point I turned it off. The next day I got an email from Sue at Quilt Times asking did I quit blogging and why I removed my blog. I haven't a clue what happened because it was there when I went to bed the evening before. I got my blog back and turned back on word verification. I totally understand if you don't leave me a comment.

I also received an email from Sheila asking me if I would consider putting "follow by email option" on my blog. I like the idea of getting an email when a favorite blog of mine post rather than keep checking the blog especially if you don't blog. Does anybody else have this?

Karen from Log Cabin Quilter sent me the sweet walking rabbit quilt top earlier last week. It is so flippin cute! I put it on the longarm over the weekend with some extra backing so that I can quilt a few other small quilts too. The above photo is a glimpse.

I made these a few weeks ago and just hadn't shared them. I hadn't removed the paper from two of them so they look wonky in the photo. My first house quilt didn't go so well because I had alot of waste even though I used scraps. So below I made a plan....these blocks were made alot faster once I had the plans. (what a builder needs....good plans!)

On the house front; the sale sign is still stuck in the yard. It is a shame that there is very little interest in homes that are over $200,000 in our area. When I drive around town I see For Sale signs and not a single one says "under contract" or "sold." My husband commutes to work and now talk of gas prices to be at an all time high is sickening.

One last thing I'm posting for my blog friend Loris. Please go to this link and comment to win! You'll see when you get there! Tell her Mary sent you!!

UPDATE: DUH says I! I found the follow my email at "Add a Gadget" and now have it for those asking me to have it. I tell ya...I'm living in a hole!

Houses in our area aren't selling either. People only seem to be interested in houses in the $150k range right now. I hope the right buyer comes along soon for y'all.

P.S. Can't wait to see the bunny quilt! Being that its Karen's I just know it's going to be fabulous.

glad all is well with you. I found the word verification thing annoying at first but I'm getting used to it. I turned off mine (I think) and I've had 2 spams so it's going back on.

I love The Walking Rabbit :-)
Karen is such a source of inspiration for me! I love the projects she comes up with.
Your quilting looks good!
Have wondered how the home sale was going. News around here in the west is that there may be some slight improvement this year. However, the gas prices seem to be going up each hour! Will keep praying the right buyer shows up for you.

I was just thinking about you today and realized I hadn't seen you post in awhile. I am hand quilting and sure wish we lived closer, lol. I am on the upper, last half, so it will get done.

Mary, I have a space on my blog where people can choose to follow by email. This works really well, especially for family and friends who just want to see what I'm up to. Every time I publish a new post, they get an email which includes the latest post. Love your Bunny!

Glad to see you posting as I love reading your blog. I love it when there is a 'follow by email' linky. We have new houses being built in our neighborhood (presold) in the $275 + range. They seem to be doing better than resales for some reason.

I took word verification off last year when the spam police was beefed up. I've not had any problem with spam until this new recent change. I had someone ask me to add the email thing too. I'm not really sure what is happening next month when Google Friend connect changes.
I hope you will get a buyer for your home. We will be putting out old house on the market soon, so I sure hope the market improves.

I use Google Reader. When there is a new post it shows up. Easy and convenient. The word verification is a total pain. After 3 attempts at trying to leave a comment I usually give up. That bunny is adorable. Can't wait to see the reveal.

Karen's quilts are always fab! Real estate is struggling everywhere - just another sign of the times, I suppose. We just passed the one year mark since our MA house went under contract. I am SO glad that all of that is behind us now.
Do you use Google Reader - a way to check in on all the blogs that you love to read in one spot with updates whenever there is a new post. I LOVE it!

Hi! I use the following button on my dashboard and it keeps track of updated blogs on my reading list.

here's the link that explains.

Your bunny is looking good. His blue plaid jacket is just perfect for spring. I used that blue plaid for about three bunnies thus far. You know who is going to be very jealous that you have that rabbit!

House blocks are always good whether wonky or built straight up. I have a big house quilt top or two that need finishing. One is in plaids.

I haven't had word verification on my blog for quite some time. No big problems. I have comments come to me via e-mail. If anything shows up that I don't want, I go to my blog comments and remove them. It seems to just be people wanting you to click on something trying to get you to buy.

Hey, I do remember you! Getting closer to the Liberty show. As Simply Libby told me a few weeks ago, it's time to come up for air! Even if we don't buy anything, I think the both of us need to get out, stretch our legs and get some fresh air. April seems just the time to do it!

Got the word verification on the first try this time! I must be getting better. Let's see how I do with this one. Drum roll, please ....

No, Mary, you are living in a Hollow, not a hole!
I love that rabbit Karen sent you. I saw it on her blog.
Cute house blocks--I need to do some, but I don't think mine will end up paper pieced, or that small!
I turned word verification off on my blog, but so far I am still here. I wonder what happened to yours?

I am now signed up for your email notification ... hope they do not "try to improve" anything else on Blogger. I have word verification turned off and have not had Spam - I think the Spam blocker works well... hope they do not improve it. Love what you are working on and the houses are looking good. Judy C

Love your little houses and your walking bunny. I wanted to do the houses but got on board to late to get the pattern.
Houses in San Diego are selling depending on the areas. Central areas are selling the best and the prices are staying consistant.

Well, there you are!!!! Good to see you and all the fun goodies and treasures.

Glad to know you are okay.
That "follow by email" is a new thing. I had not seen it before today.
And Yes I hate the hard to read 2-word verification also

Sharon said...

Missed you! I really do not like the two word verification either...I turned it off on mine. Now I hope everyone can still see my blog!

Love that cute bunny quilt!!!

It has to be so frustrating to have the house on the market for so long. The increasing gas prices are a killer on so many levels. The commute will be so expensive and all of our goods will go up as the delivery costs rise.

Hi Mary--I've missed you! The new word verification is a complete pain -- what was blogger thinking?!? Thanks for the heads up on the giveaway! :)

Hey there Mary. Good to see a post from you. We all understand how life can get in the way. I haven't been doing much sewing. I would love to but you know... Life. Just gets in the way. :)

That word verification is a pain. I had turned mine off a long time ago....with the simpler form of word verification...and it remains off. So far, I've had no problems. Sorry you haven't had any bites on the house sale yet. :(

Leeanne said...

Cutie bunny. Yeah to two 'word' thing is a bit of a pain, but we need to keep the not so nice people away. I use google blogger too to keep up with all the blogs I like.

Fiesta said...

I too hate thecword verification especially since some are hardly recognizable. I too subscribe to blogs and get their emails.

AnnieO said...

I saw your "missing" blog too when I tried to go to it the other night. Glad it reappeared all by itself! Not a fan of the word verification but am geting used to it. Are there really that many robots making comments on blogs, I wonder?

Cute rabbit!

Sorry your house is still not selling. Maybe in the next few weeks after winter?

andsewon said...

You are worth 3 tries on the word thingy!;-) I had a spam right after I did it yesterday but Google Spam caught it. Cute rabbit in wool!! Seems homes here that are selling are small ones but still not a lot selling period. A lot more for rent then used to be. Gas prices will affect us with DH's commute to Newport News. Trips to Raleigh along with our motor home trips to beach.Tough times a coming! Happy to have my fabric stash!!!

Cheryl said...

The word verification is back! I am so jealous...that Walking Rabbit that Karen made you is just the cutest! Sorry your house is not selling. I don't know of many that are! Try to stay positive.

Barb said...

super cute little houses!
yea, this word thing is a total drag!
Love the little bunnie :)

Vivian said...

The bunny looks like an elegant little gentleman, from the limited look you're teasing us with.
Hate the 2-word verification and I shut mine off. Taking my changes with spam, and all is OK so far. If I don't get it right after 3 tries, I just skip leaving a comment, and that's unfair to the blogger.
Your little houses are sweet. I knew I couldn't stay with them, so I'm just enjoying seeing everyone else's progress.

Bari Jo said...

Hi friend! Those houses look cute! I am so tempted to try but so intimidated... was wishing they could be paper pieced.... thanks for the heads up on the Whittles fabric! I ordered a few of their scrap bags! Can't wait for them to get here! I have hardly gotten anything done quilt wise but am just itching to get a project done and to you! Soon I hope!

I am sorry to hear that things aren't selling very well right now in your area; I know you would love to have that behind you. I hope things turn around quickly and the spring brings interested buyers for you!

Bari Jo said...

Oh! I just re-read your note - it looks like you can paper piece these houses! oh my! I am off to her etsy store to purchase her pattern! I looks like much fun! Can't believe I am so slow to get on the bandwagon - saw the note on your blog long ago - just don't know where the time goes!

Yay! now I am a subscriber. I have never used the "reader" I have this on my blog and I like getting the posts in my email. Thanks
Love that rabbit. Karen makes the best quilts.
Love your little houses.
