Tuesday Mornings....The Store!

Bari's quilt was quilted with an edge-to-edge maple leaves pattern. Her piecing is perfection!

Yesterday I popped into a store called Tuesday Mornings after my ENT appt. We don't have a Tuesday Mornings where I live so this was a real treat for me. Imagine my surprise when I found a FQ bundle of Westminster fabrics, quilting books and notions!

This 31 piece bundle of FQ's came home with me for just $39.99. (that is half price!) though I'd have loved the bundle to be a darker civil war, antique sort of look I'm pleased with only spending $1.29 a FQ that I can use for gift projects. The bundle still has the "old" look that I love. This is an older book that has been out for several years. It was $5.99. There were other quilting books that I already had and also several sewing project and knitting books. There was also Fons & Porter notions marked down 50% from retail. The gal working said that quilting and sewing items is some newer things they've starting carrying.

My 18 year old doesn't read my blog so I feel confident I can share a peek of his quilt in the making.

Yesterday my ENT looked at my CT Scan and sure enough found I had a small problem on the left sinus. My surgery has been scheduled for December 16th. The timing of the surgery isn't the best but the doctor tells me that recovery is within a couple days and told me I can work the next day...then hesitated and said...two days.

Are you still reading? Gosh....thought you would have gone to Tuesday Mornings by now! Hee! If you go...please tell me if you scored!!

The quilt for your son is coming along beautifully Mary! Love the colors and stars of course. Hope this surgery is the final episode of your issues and that you heal quickly.
Tuesday Morning - huh - didn't know about fabric there for sure. I'll have to stop and check it out.

Our Tuesday Mornings store closed in our area. What a great find you have there! Very nice.

Love the quilt you are working on for your son. Those are great colors and especially for a guy :)

ENT appt tomorrow and a Tuesday Morning right up the street from my house. Guess where I'll be going tomorrow?

Love your son's quilt blocks. First quilt I ever made my son was black/red/white and he was 5 years old! Timeless color combo.

Yep, still not open here :-)
Love what you found there. Nice collection for a gift quilt.
And your son is going to be very pleased. Those stars are great in the reds and black. Lovely work!

P.S. Sorry you have to have a procedure done but so glad they found a fixable problem to get you back to full steam :-)
Prayers and Hugs!

Well, now I will be looking for store locations near me! There used to be one "near" me (45 minutes away) but the last time I drove by, they had closed. I never went in the store before. Great score!

Glad the doctor found your issue and you'll be up and running after a couple of days rest.

Great finds at great prices! So very sorry to hear you've been under the weather but finding the cause and taking care of it will get you back on the road to recovery! Sending special hugs your way! Love the quilt you are making - black and white with red is awesome! Love everything you do!

LOL I think I'll have to make a Tuesday Morning stop soon. I try to check it out every so often as everyone here knows about their sewing section and if you don't get there when they put it out, you lose. I've found some cute fabric kits in the past and nice little tool organizers. You had a great day! I'll be sending T&P's for an easy surgery and fast recovery. Have a happy day!

ha ha ha, you are funny, Mary! Yes, I want to go to Tuesday Mornings immediately. I have bought some notions there and fabric--warning: some of the Fons & Porter sewing needles are apparently seconds and/or defective--the eye of the machine needle was too low and the thread was cut off repeatedly when I used them! Threw them all away. At least they were cheap.
Your son's quilt looks great!

Hope your surgery goes very smoothly--too bad you have to wait so long to have it.

I haven't been there in years but I'll have to see if I can make it today!

Anyway, love the stars in the quilt. Oh, how I love making stars and seeing them in my quilts. Your son is sure to love it.

Hope you do well with surgery and that you're feeling better quicky. I'll remember the date bz that's the day my son comes home from his mission! Have to be at the airport bright and early and I'm so excited I can hardly stand it!

Half price fabrics are my favorite;)
That will make some beautiful little quilts.
I hope the surgery goes well, I am tired of not breathing well myself, need to see an ENT.

We have two Tuesday Mornings here -- but I've never seen fabric or quilting stuff. How fun for you!! It kind of makes up for the news you got on the sinus surgery. Yuck. Your son's quilt is looking great! :)

I do not get to Tuesday mornings very often but now that they carry FQ and books I think I will make an added effort. Lovely quilt by the way. Love the colors.

I LOVE Tuesday morning stores! I found lots of goodies there, but it is hit and miss. I didn't find the bundle you did, but they had some charms and jelly rolls.

Hope the surgery clears up your problems!

Oooh I think there is a Tuesday Morning somewhere around me. I see the sale flyer every so often. Love the star blocks. Sorry about your surgery. Hopefully it will help some sinus issues.

What a great buy and the fabrics are adorable. Sorry you have to have surgery but hopefully this will fix things. Take care.

Well gee! I haven't been to Tuesday Morning in quite a while. Maybe tomorrow! :-)

Oh No! I somehow missed this post, and now I won't be able to get to Tuesday Morning until Wednesday morning. There's a store not far from my house, but I've never been. I'll check it out in the morning. Great finds!

It's a new one to me--have never heard of Tuesday Mornings. I see the closest is 2 hours away.
That book is a favorite of mine. Darlene Zimmerman taught classes at our LQS one summer weekend, and she was a delightful teacher.
December isn't the nicest time to be taking care of a medical problem, but you'll feel better when it's fixed. Take care of yourself!

Humph. We haven't got Tuesday Mornings (or Joanne's, or Krispy Creme doughnuts yet). I'm very deprived.

Hope the op gets your sinuses sorted out once and for all.

You did score!!!! I have found the best deals there on fabric and notions, but I haven't seen the group of fat quarters like that. I'll have to stop in and see if we have them too.

Sorry that you have to have surgery, but hopefully it will take care of the problem once and for all. Two days????? Oh dear!

The local Tuesday Morning has carried FQ bundles in the past but it was from Wal-Mart. OTOH, the yarn that our store carries is scrumptious!

Good luck with your sinus surgery! Great find at Tuesday Morning!

Hi Mary! We don't have a Tuesday Mornings around here, but I certainly wish we did. Your FQB wasn't just a really great price, the fabrics are lovely!
I'm so sorry you are going to need surgery done but I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for a comfort and a speedy recovery. Big Hugs...

How fun! Now I'll have to go to Tuesday Morning. We have one in the little town where I live, and one in Pensacola where I work. I've never seen any quilty stuff, though.

Love the black and red quilt. Looks like I'm not the only one who's outside the comfort zone. :-)

I hope your surgery goes well and you have a really fast recovery!
