Mountain Dew?

Two weeks ago we went to Boone, NC for a college campus tour at Appalacian State for my youngest son's consideration. I couldn't resist purchasing some apples from one of the many roadside stands. I'm just about the only one here who eats apples so I've been finding recipes to entice my guys. Last night's was a hit! However, it is just full of the not so good stuff to include Mountain Dew! I found the recipe at Pillsbury under a search for Apple Dumplings. I loved the crescent roll dumpling (I ate two!) and I did spend an hour on the treadmill during the middle of the day yesterday in anticipation of my dessert and then again first thing this morning after my guilt!

Meandering Mittens quilting was quilted on this sweet flannel quilt. Can you see those sweet snowmen in the mittens? CUTE!

I'll be scarce for the next week and will consider myself on a little blog break of sorts and stealing bits of time here and there to check on my email.

Those apple dumplings sound dangerous (and delicious)!
Someone is already finished piecing their winter quilt - cute quilting!

Love the quilted mittens to match the fabric. So cute! I will stay away from the apple dumplings all together. I am having a hard enough time with the pumpkin bread, cookies and muffins!

I LOVE the meandering mittens! Is it a published quilting pattern, or a specific machine? It's just charming!

Cute mittens. Mountain Dew? I wonder if the caffeine burns off while baking!

That looks good, need more apple recipes, love eating them and cooking with them. Love the mittens, nice idea for a christmas quilt, do you make them up or go from patterns?

How funny is this! I just took a pan of this same recipe out of my oven. It smells divine in my house. I just sampled these at a quilt event last night and asked for the recipe....same as yours. I can't wait to plate mine up. What a coincidence!

I have a similar recipe, except it uses orange juice and sprite or 7up. They are yummy ... great comfort food, especially with a little whipped cream! Enjoy your little break. Hugs!! :)

Yum! My parents from NC are coming to visit this weekend and bringing us lots of Cheerwine! There's no Cheerwine here in Florida! That sounds like a great recipe you have there :-) I hope your visit to App went well :-)

I stayed in Boone about this time last year for a few days to see the fall foliage and to visit Tonya and some of the local attractions. It was a really nice trip for us!

I have a senior this year too, cross your fingers for us, she's set on State for Textiles. Textiles!!!! Doesn't that sound like fun, majoring in fabric! Okay not quite the same thing. App is beautiful, that would be fun visiting . Love the quilted mittens, so cute.

The quilted mittens look wonderful. We went to the north Georgia mountains last Friday and bought apples. I'm really trying not to make an apple cake. I'm afraid I'll eat it all:) Take care!

Would Diet Mt. Dew make much difference? My boys love the diet dew AND apples.

Have fun hiding from us!

Oh my gosh, those apple dumplings could certainly entice me (although I do love apples any way)! And that flannel quilt is so cute and cuddly....I love that little mitten pattern!

XOXO,

Cyndi

Enjoy the break. We make something a little similar called "Pop Chops." My family loves it. I don't care for pork chops so I've never tried it but my family loves it! I'm not blogging too much now either bz I'm busy getting Travis' room painted and back in order for when he comes home in Dec. Busy, busy!

Oh my gosh, those dumplings look so good it's scary, LOL. Especially since hubby and I are 'trying' to stay on track with our heart healthy lifestyle. BUT...we might just have to try those one month when we are ready to really treat ourselves.
I love the meandering mittens quilting and those adorable little snowmen. Thanks so much for sharing all this good stuff Mary. Big Hugs...
