Yes Mom, I'm Okay

Mom called me today to ask if I was okay since I hadn't been posting to my blog.

It has been a very busy week with my family home. My husband returned from a month long business trip, my 21 year old came home for a hernia surgery so I nursed him back to health before he returned to his own place and then of course my ever active 17 year old tries to keep me young and on the go.

There has been some quilting that I'm anxious to share with you. (A gift for a blogging friend who has suffered a loss that no mom shall ever have to experience.)

On the frame now is one of Valerie's tops that she sent me for custom quilting. It is so pretty and I'll share more photos of it soon since she doesn't have a blog. The blocks are beautifully cross-stitched. I'm taking my time with this one to be sure the blocks don't stretch and get wonky.

Life does consume us - happy to hear a 'report in'.

Busy is good. You're lucky to have a Mom that cares.

Nice of you to check in with us Mary! When raising children always plan for the unexpected and getting to be nurse to your son is a privilege. I am so glad that you made a little something special for your friend:)

Hey, that's what mom's are for! One of the reasons I have a BWO (blogging without obligation) button on my blog...... Hope # 1 is doing better.

I'm so glad you are "okay"....hope your son continues to improve...with you as a nurse he got excellent care! I called my sister to tell her her quilt is on your site - she just called me crying with joy and told me her mother-in-law would have turned 96 this week. Lorry is thrilled and beyond joy. We both thank you! Enjoy your summer days and continued good health to your family!

That makes me laugh - one of my mom's friend reads my blog and checked on me once when she thought it had been too long between posts! Good to know someone misses us!

I'll be interested to see how that beautiful quilt turns out after quilting. I have a selection of cross-stitch blocks I'd like to make into a quilt but I haven't been sure how to handle them. I agree with the others that it's good to have a mom who cares :D

I'm happy to see you too! Sorry abt your DS's surgery, but glad you were there for him. Have a great weekend!

Sometimes life just takes over in our busy worlds. It sounds as though caring for a post surgery patient and tending to your DH was where you should have been anyway. Blogging can wait. We aren't going anywhere.

That quilt is really beautiful. I can't wait to see what you do with it.

i'm not fond of traveling 4 days, let alone a month. I'm sure your family is glad your husband is home. Enjoy your time together!

As so many have written and expressed in different ways--first we live our lives with family and friends. Blogging comes in a distant second, if time allows.

If my mom had a computer, she might have sent the same message to me. Caring moms are wonderful.

Glad you're OK and DH is back home now. I hope your son is recovering well?

That's a very clever quilt, but it can't have been easy to know how to quilt it.

This Gramms was wondering the same thing - but you know that we don't ask because we don't want to "get in your business." Life does have a way of making you priortize. Another beautiful masterpiece is in the making. Judy C

I was thinking about you and how busy you must be with family to not be posting much. That's a long business trip, does that happen very often?
