Be Still My Heart!!

The August 2011 issue of American Patchwork & Quilting arrived in my box today. My heart quickly skipped a beat when I spotted this adorable miniature quilt called, Sweet Carolina made out of Jo Morton fabrics! Is this not me or what?!!!

The cover quilt is our blogging friend Kathie Holland's quilt and another blogger friend Sherri McConnell's tote using hexagons from charm squares and her GO! cutter. Congrats ladies!!!

Mary Lou is still heavy on my mind (see previous post). If you wish to send the family a sympathy card I do have her address.

I saw Kathy's quilt on the cover and like the little Jo Morton quilt also. So many quilts, so little time. Hope mailman brings my copy tomorrow.

Can't wait to get my issue. I agree about that Carolina Lily...want it, need it!
Thank you for the link to Mary Lou's touching post. Such a sad loss.

That is an adorable mini quilt! My magazine hasn't come yet but I might just make that as soon as it arrives.
I'd like Mary Lou's address to send her a card. She's been on my mind too. My kids have been getting a bit smothered with hugs the last few days.

Sherrill said...

That is NOT FAIR!! I always get mine last (and I agree, that mini IS adorable!!).

And...another blogger I know (Michelle) has one of her quilts in the article on the Alzheimer's quilts. My issue arrived today and it's such fun to see names I recognize in magazines!!!

Oh my gosh! My heart skipped at Sweet Carolina too! :-) I have a pattern in a T-berries book for a whole quilt and have been fabric searching. ;-)

I would love to have Mary Lou's address too.
Thanks you!

No fair, you got yours before me. That is a very cute little quilt, so how quickly will you have it made? ;o)

Hi Mary! We had a tornado here on Monday night and I have been without power until today...that's why you haven't heard from me!

Oh wow, that mini quilt is gorgeous, and yes, it just screams "MARY!" :o) I really like that quilt on the cover, too. I hope my copy of the magazine arrives soon!

I was so sorry to read about your friend's heart goes out to her and her family, and I'm keeping them in my prayers.

I received my copy last week and fell in love with Sweet Caroline. I have the fabrics picked out and they are just waiting on my cutting table. Now, if I could just get around to starting it.

My heart goes out to Mary Lou.

Hi Mary,
I love that little quilt, too! Now I am going to have to go find that magazine today. Might not have time to make the quilt right now, but just looking at it will be a kind of therapy for me right now. :)
Have a nice weekend,

I agree, this quilt is wonderful! I need to pick up this magazine and check it out myself! I too would like Mary Lou's address...its hard hearing such sad news. After the horrible weather here in Missouri this week, and the loss of loved ones, it makes you pause and take notice. Take time for yourself this weekend and your family.

I, too, fell in love with this pattern in the magazine! Looks like we can have some fun together!

"Sweet Carolina"....definitely "Quilt Hollow" written all over it. It may just be subtitled "Sew Cindy".

Oh, I am going to have to get that magazine. So cool to see that both girls have something in the magazine. I read both their blogs.

Sweet Carolina is my next project. I love it.

I am planning to make Sweet Carolina too! Wish we still had Jo's club so we could see each other's quilts. Stay cool and good luck with selling your house. I know someone will come and call completely in love with it - they will probably ask you to leave all the quilts and furnishings behind :).
