Le Petite Project "Mon Ami"

The only thing missing from this pattern is the outer border and quilting. I'm on the fence about adding a final border because I personally think it looks just fine like this. Moda Remembrance is the line of fabric I used. Do you know that the Fat Quarter Shop is offering Remembrance 50% off with code word "remem?" The Fat Quarter Shop's Facebook page announces specials just about weekly I think.

My blog needs a new look. It needs something that still says I'm Quilt Hollow and feels like me. I've received several emails this past week asking me where you can find my prices for quilting and requirements. Until I get tabs set up or my website I can send you a price list or even quote you via email. Before I mess around with my blog I want to be sure to back it up so nothing is lost. It seems I saw somebody post how to go about this awhile back and now I can't find it.

I vote no border. I love it just as it is. I need a new look, too, but I'm too lazy to spend the effort. Good luck on the spruce up. I like the look so far!

I too like the way it looks.

The top looks great! I think a border would detract from the piecing! Good luck with your new look! That seems to be running rampant in the new year ;)

I agree, it looks great the way it is.

Oh boy, do I ever like your "Mon Ami." The problem with reading quilting blogs is that I want to make all the projects I see. Too many quilts, not enough time!

I love your Mon Ami just the way it is...no border!

Your Mon Ami looks great! It does look great the way it is. I was just picking out the fabric for mine. Maybe only put a border on it if you want it to be bigger? I don't know how to change your blog.....when you find out can you post the information? Being a fairly new blogger I'm interested.

I LOVE this piece, beautiful pattern and fabrics.
Blogger is easy to redo, it is all in the design section.

I love it without the border! It looks fabulous.

If we have the same Blogger version, you can go to the Dashboard, select "Design," select "Edit HTML," then select "Download full template."

I'm dissenting from the rest, I vote border (did you ask for a vote?) I think a small plain border would show up the piecing even more. A blog makeover!!

Love that quilt. I think I'd leave it like you have it now. Now I guess I'm gonna have to go visit Fat Quarter Shop for the fabric. My credit card thanks you! ;)

Well, I'm throwing my hat into the ring, too, and saying I love it just as it is - those fabrics are gorgeous!

I want a blog make-over too, but being the computer-stupid person I am, I would probably lose the whole thing if I tried to do something different! :o(

XOXO,

Cyndi

Hi Mary,

I like it just as it is too! I think you should go with your first instinct :)

I have just added pages to my blog (tabs). It is not hard--just requires a couple of steps.

To back up your blog, you can go to the Dashboard where you see your blog; "Manage Blog". Hit settings. On the "Basic" tab (which is the first screen in Settings), the top entry is Blog Tools. Select Export Blog and it will direct you how to save a copy wherever you want. I save mine to my PC but you can save it to an external drive or memory stick I'm sure.

I think it looks great without the border. Good luck on the new look, I hope it goes smooth.

Your Mon Ami quilt turned out so nice, I love itand you got it done pretty fast. It does look nice as is without a border. You'll probably have it quilted this weekend, show us a picture when you do. Remembrance is very nice fabric.

I think the quilt is perfect as it is. I certainly didn't look at it and think it was waiting for another border.

I was also going to suggest how to save your blog before changing it, but I see others have already done so. I will just add though that it is a good idea to do it - ask me how come I say that with such feeling?

Kaaren said...

Your first instinct is virtually always the best one, Mary. I too have to agree with the masses...leave it just like it is. It's perfect.

Sometimes we just know where to end it. It's pretty like it is. Best of luck with with "housekeeping". I had to have my daughter hold my hand.

Mary, this is FAB-ulicious!! Oh my word, I love this fabric in this pattern!!!!! I don't believe I'd add another thing. This is definitely one of favorites yet.

Did you find the pattern difficult?

You know my address.

I love the quilt without a border, but I'm sure whatever you choose will look lovely.
It looks like you got some advice about backing up your blog?

Good luck on the blog makeover...I hate doing those things. The thought of loosing my things just makes me panic. Love the quilt with no borders....I'd make it for whatever size works best for you.

I think it looks good as is, you don't need a border. And for your new look you should ask that Madam Samm. She gives everyone that look just for them. She is good at it, have you seen her blogs ? Wow!
Will come back to see your new look.

Hi Mary. For some strange reason, my emails to you are not going through so I'm emailing you through your blog. I've tried 2/3 times yesterday and the same this morning. Probably my end - who knows.

But, would you email me to see if I can "reply" directly to you.
