Le Petite January Project

After being reminded the other day about January's Le Petite Project I figured I could at least cut pieces while I still had a house full of kids visiting. The project for the month is a Schnibbles pattern called, "Mon Ami." I'm going to use Moda Remembrance for mine. After cutting out all the pieces I couldn't wait to see how a block would come together; then another, and another. In between cooking, cleaning, laundry and visiting I would try to steal away a bit of time for some piecing. (quilting is such a great stress reliever)

Two errors were found on the pattern I own. You may want to check your pattern before you cut out your background pieces. You only need 109 2.5" squares not 134.

Also, the pattern leaves out that you will need to stitch one dark 2.5" to the matching light 2.5" to make two half-sq triangles that complete the block's star points.

This is a beauty of a pattern plenty of 1/2 square triangle fun!

That looks great, Mary. I bet it's going to be a beautiful quilt when you're finished. Good thing you're an experienced quilter and discovered those mistakes!

I'm actually working on my first ever quilt! Yay!!!! :o)

XOXO,

Cyndi

Happy New Year! Your block looks great. I will have to look for that pattern. Now I know I saw the blog for the Le Petite before, can't remember if I have it bookmarked or not. We just got back from TN late last night and Doug got me the Accuquilt Go Cutter for Christmas!! I'm going to get my sewing room set up this week and start quilting again. Have loads of charm packs and layer cakes to start some of those Schnibbles.

This will look great! I'm glad that you found your error.I had a miscut misprint one time with McCall's Quilting Magazine. I was so upset because I had to use that fabric for something else rather than what I had planned. Turns out the new fabric I had to buy went better anyway. I let the McCall's people know about the error and they had already printed a rectraction in the next issue, which I hadn't bought. They promised a complimentary issue as their appology but I never received it.
