Crazy Week

Here is my State Fair Schnibble that I submitted to both Sherri and Sinta for the parade. I'm very pleased with the windy swirl quilting and the binding is nearly finished.

I love Darlene's quilt pattern; it would have been nice if I would have followed directions and cut my charm strips the correct size. This is about 23 x 27 or so. Once quilted I plan to round the border corners. You can learn more here about the Between Charming Friends Quilt-A-Long HERE.
In addition to raising and caring for my family this past week I quilted and mailed four customer quilts; quilted a friend's birthday gift that I can share later). Here it is the last day of June and because my month was so busy it is a blur. Blogging seems to have taken a back seat to all else. Do you ever feel like a hamster on one of those wheels? They run fast but don't seem to get ahead. I've been trying to check blogs in my free time and haven't always left a comment.
I've received some wonderful gifts in the mail from other bloggers that I hope to post about next time as I realized I didn't get photos and camera batteries are dead.
Wishing you all a fun 4th of July! My July calendar looks like fun times ahead and a few surprises.

Fun Misc Stuff...Oh and I Do Mention A Winner

I'm a Charming Quilt Alonger and you can be too! It isn't too late to sign up and you can find the information here at Kelly's blog called Charming Chatter. Although I must admit it would have helped if I would have followed cutting directions. I'm using two charm packs of Vine Creek. Directions say to cut 3 - 1.5" strips from your charms. Why did I cut 1.25? I have bonus strips leftover for a coin quilt! Thanks to Kelly she sent me "modified" cutting directions for my background. My quilt will be smaller compared to all the others.

Honestly when Stephanie at Loft Creations introduced a No Strings Attached Challenge earlier in the year I thought I would whip out several projects. This is my one and only I managed to make. I quilted and bound it this past weekend.

Lastly, the winner to yesterday's post. She has somebody named Bo to thank. It was that slip of paper that was pulled from the hat. Bo spotted the giveaway on another blog and was kind enough to comment her find on my giveaway post. SEW CINDY you are my winner!
I'm trying to think of some fun way to celebrate with you my second year of blogging which is next month. Only this time the giveaway will not be spread into blogland but kept private among true blue blog friends. In other words, only those who visit me regularly will be considered.

Winner here or shall I say Winners?

We have a winner! All names tossed into my son's cap and he pulled out Rita. Rita wrote, "What a great quilt, Mary! It's perfect for July 4th. Thanks for being so generous." Rita doesn't have a blog. I hope she checks mine today to see she is the winner.

In my posting for the giveaway I asked if you would post my giveway on your blog and asking those who visit me through your post to leave your name in the comment on mine. This would qualify you for an additional drawing just to show my appreciation! I believe I have visited everybody's blog to check and now have an additional cap filled with names.

Quilt Up For Grabs

Funny thing about Blogger; you never know how your photo will be turned.

This is a quilt I made many moons ago. There is some embroidery, hand quilting, a few big prim stitches and even some staining to obtain that primitive old look.

Here is a bit of a closer view. My quilt is up for grabs! Please spread the news on your blog and do ask if they spotted this giveaway at yours to be so kind as mention it in their comment to me. (secret giveaway gift here for you) If your not a follower than become one. You never know when the next little quilt will be up for grabs.
Winner will be announced on Sunday, June 20th here on my blog. It is up to you to claim the quilt. (pays to be a follower) I figure by Monday evening if winner doesn't come forward the next name will be chosen. I'd like the quilt to be in the mail to its new home in time for the 4th of July.
Oh and how will the name be chosen? - - simply a name pulled from the hat!

Schnibbles Time Two Contest & Between Charming Friends Quilt-Along Post

Schnibbles Times Two Contest entry post here! As much as I love making Schnibbles quilts I should join in right? This means some evening sewing for me for sure. There is still time to enter and you can learn more from Kelly at Cotton Charm Quilts.

That's it! I'm also joining the Between Charming Friends Quilt-Along HERE.
So...I'm a little late to the party. I didn't know if I would be able to attend. The pattern looks like a fantastic fun one...afterall it is designed by my blog friend Darlene. She gave this pattern on her blog several months ago and I saved it for one of my someday projects.

I've been watching all my friends sign up for the party and gosh darn...don't want to feel left out! So here is my choice of fabrics and I plan to make the smaller version. I'm already behind as my fabrics are not cut yet. You can find cutting directions at this post.

So here is my rationalization for likely biting off more than I should, if I can finish these little quilts than I am two gifts closer to Christmas.

What Schnibbles Addiction?

The above quilt I'll call Jo's Midnight Picnic. This is just the top and hasn't been quilted yet. But I had to leave you with a bit of eye candy before I head off to the beach this week.

As soon as Schnibbles State Fair was announced for June I was ready because I had Moda's charms called Summer's Basket of Flowers set aside for this one. Once I quilt it I will send to Sherry and Sinta for my entry. This Schnibbles was fun, fast and easy!! I started this quilt Friday evening after dinner with one small mishap of spilling 1/2 wine cooler on the pieces! I chuckle here because a fellow blogger did same thing recently! Luckily my cooler was blush pink and not red. Anyway....as I was saying I started Friday evening (rarely quilt at night) and finished Saturday afternoon. Oh yes, better things I should have been doing to prepare for the trip but it is that Schnibble Addiction!
Postal service is holding mail for me so if your tops are on their way to be quilted they are in good hands at the post office.
One last thing...be sure to check the previous post for all the giveaway announcements. There are some really good ones. It got me thinking it has been awhile since I've offered one. Stay tuned.....State Fair soon to be up for grabs!

Give Aways

Some fantastic blog friends are having wonderful giveaways and I'm helping spread word. Do I want to spread the word? NO!! Cathi has a new website called Shakerwood Quilts and she is offering FOUR ITEMS one is her very own bundle of hand dyed wool! Am I crazy for telling you?!! I want the wool! Go over and tell her that Quilt Hollow wants the wool.

My friend Stefanie from Little Lady Patchwork went to Spring market and is giving away some of her finds! Again...don't want to tell you but I'm nice today. It is hard to decide which item I would want here....THREE of them! Don't miss it!!

Also I've mentioned before that Barb at Bejeweled Quilts is giving away a GO cutter! I think my chances for this are very slim but gosh darn I'm trying for it.

I do plan to have one more post to share with you before the weekend is over. Then you'll see a wee bit of silence from me as I'll be at the beach. Gosh....what if I win and am not here?!!

Just Some Quilting

The someday quilt (from previous post) just needs binding. I loved comments I received both on the blog and personal emails. It is a happy quilt and each time I look at it I crack a smile. Somebody even wrote that it reminds them of Allsorts Licorice....I love licorice and must agree with that comment.

This is a quilt that I meant to post over the Memorial Day weekend. I finished quilting this one last week as well. It's huge and beautiful with all those log cabin blocks. The piecer's precision of each seam intersecting was amazing! I want to hire her to piece my tops. Wonder about a barter?

She simply wanted all over stars and loops for quilting.

Also did you happen to notice that Barb at Bejeweled has an Accuquilt Go Giveaway?
