Act of Kindness

Earlier this year I sent Quilting Fiesta some scraps just because. Nothing expected in return on my part. Then out of the blue (and in my mailbox) I find a simple act of kindness. This darling little quilt makes its way to my home with a little note tucked inside thanking me for the fabric and with the leftovers she made this for me. Thank you!!

I won! Kelly at Cotton Charm Quilts had a giveaway and I was a lucky winner of a layer cake. She told me she had the brand new Collections for a Cause "Faith" and I was sold! I ordered a 2nd layer cake to go with my win and while at it asked her about Antique Fair and lucky again as she had some from market so I lucked out and also got myself a jelly roll with birthday money. (thanks mom)
Mom wanted me to buy something nice with my birthday money. I'm chuckling because as a quilter we all know we prefer fabric over clothing shopping anyday. Am I right or not?

You are definitely right which always makes me wonder when people say they don't know what to buy for me. Duh! Fabric or thread!

What a beautiful gift from Betsy! And your win/buy from Kelly will make something very nice. Yes, only fabric/gift cards please for gifts!

Love your new fabric, lucky duck. I'm the same way I prefer some new fabric to new clothes. Your little surprise quilt is so cute!

Nice little quilt! From what little I can see on that jelly roll, I may just like the Antique Fair. Fabric makes the best birthday gifts......

I dunno... shoes, purses, cute clothes... especially skirts... those eat up my money just as much as fabric. Ok, maybe lately all my personal money has definitely gone to fabric but I cant say its the only thing I love to buy.

Fabric definitely never makes my butt look big or give me a blister the first time I use it however... it does have its merits ;-)

I can shop till I drop for fabric but when it comes to clothes, I loath having to do it. What a lovely way to pay it forward, to get back a wonderful surprise.

Lovely fabrics and you lucky duck on finding some "Antique Fair". Hey, it's your birthday - better fabric than someone giving you a sweater the wrong color, size and style. Its nice to receive those "thank yous" - I know we don't do things just to get them - but they are nice

More yummy things in you post box. The fabrics both look great - definitely something I'm going to go looking for as I've got Christmas money burning a hole in my poscket!

Mary, I agree. For Christmas all I wanted was quilting supplies. I glad you liked the little quilt. I am presently working on a primitive quilt and I need an online source for primitive types of fabrics since this is not usually my style but I have been favoring this style lately.

Woo-hoo! Good for you Mary! My mom has been working on a Cathedral Windows quilt for probably 20 years. She'll never finish it!

I know what you mean. I needed some new clothes , but I took my early birthday money and went to the quilt store instead!

I love the fabric store too...and unfortunately we don't have one here...so I go nuts when we visit our daughters.
