Really, I Don't Have Pets

For now you get a peek of what is becoming of all those stars in the previous post.

If you have followed my blog you know the story about the neighbors dog and cats who preferred my home to their own. The beagle is rarely seen anymore and once in awhile the cats will visit. Midnight is a lover and pure delight to have visit because of her fantastic hunting skills to keep critters at a minimum in the yard. Did I say visit? It has been months now and we have a routine. She isn't allowed anywhere in my house but on this quilt where she naps daily while I quilt upstairs. When she finishes her nap she comes to find me for her snack before heading out for more hunting.
The previous post had these stars on the floor to show how many I've been making. She found not only me upstairs but loved the stars on the floor! I think a breeze must have slightly moved a thread and she pounced immediately. I tell you she is a great hunter.
Hi Mom! (a little shout out because she called about not being able to see my blog. She has been checking regularly to keep up with what I'm doing)

Mary, I love that you are such an animal lover! A girl after my heart! I so love those pics. When my sister comes home from college, she always brings home her kitty, Scooter. He LOVES quilts. Anything quilty, he's all over it! So funny! Your stars are coming together beautifully. Can't wait to see it all together!

My cat can't stand when I arrange quilt blocks on the floor...he has to pounce all over them and "rearrange" them to his liking. :) Your star quilt looks beautiful already, can't wait to see the finished product.

He is a sweet cat and likes to help too, lol.
That is why I keep my door closed and no kitties allowed. Mine are just too obnoxious and get into everything and I have enough hair to clean every day;)

What a sweetheart Midnight is! I wish I could still have cats, too -- but I'll make do with visiting them (and my children, with whom they live, of course)! :)

Fun peek, I love stars. I "found" some fabric in my sewing room that I bought last year, okay maybe the year before at P & S and the first thing I thought of was stars like these. Don't look for them anytime soon though :( . Sorry the poor beagle doesn't come around too much anymore, that's sad. I have a midnight look alike here, stopped by 6 years ago and hasn't left.

It wonderful to have a "quilting buddy". I'd be lost without Gracie.

What a fun routine.....you have a friend to keep you company while sewing.

I am always so impatient to see more...especially stars!!

Love your little visitor. Sorry the neighbors were a pain about Mr Beagle.

I think those kind of pets can be compared with grand babies...nice to have come to visit, stay a while, feed and fuss with them and then breathe a tiny sigh of relief when they're on their way again. *wink*

Love those stars, Mary!

Imagine what your house would be like if your hubby weren't allergic!!? Can he tell when he comes home that someone has been "napping"?

Can't wait to see those finished quilts!

Well, that cat is very special to have its own quilt. Too bad you don't see the beagle much.
That is a lot of stars you have been working on.

she's a beauty. And nice that you have furry four legged friends.

It's fun to see the cat on your State Fair Schnibbles since that is what I'm about to finish :)

Wonderful stars - and a great helper! :-)

Well, sure hope the beagle is staying in his/her yard/house and getting attention. Glad the
cat(s) have somewhere to come visit & get attention & treats!! And your quilt is going to be BEEYOUTIFUL!

Ah!! The cat is so cute laying on your quilt. You are very generous neighbors to let the animals in. I wish we could have a cat, but my daughter is very allergic to them. She gets so sad whenever there is a cute cat around. She just wants to pet, and cuddle it. Your sneak peak looks great. I can't wait to see more.

What a wonderful friend. These animals must know you are super nice.

Funny cat. She loves your star blocks. I'll bet you miss seeing Lexie.

I'm glad she 'owns' you :-)

Love that star! OMG that kitty is soooooooooo sweet!

Your stars are looking very nice. We once had a cat named Midnight and he was a real sweetheart. I wasn't quilting then, but I suspect he might have done the same thing with quilt blocks as he was very playful.

Oh, I really like where those stars are going!! Pretty.

The cat is certainly enjoying your stars. Does the cat belong to the same owner as the dog?

No matter what new project I'm working on, my cat seems to want to lay on it. Never fails. Love all those stars you made and can't wait to see the finished products. Guess what the word verification is... "catize". Funny, huh?

Purrrfect sewing buddy you have there! VBG I'm glad to hear that your neighbor kitty still makes an appearance. How nice that quilter friends shared their stash so you could put your star quilts together. Happy quilting! :-D

Your little stars quilting looks wonderful. I love the colours of the block too.

The cat looks looks very comfy on "his" quilt too.

My cats love all my quilts and always find one to nap on. If Midnight was my cat I would be missing him for sure.

I love the star blocks -
bad kitty - I have a black one and I think it's in their nature :)

Midnight is a beautiful cat. Looks like you are making lots of progress on your star quilts, must be your helper.

We've never been blessed with a cat in the house--and I always enjoy reading about how cats seem to love being around quilts and quilting projects. Your visitor looks like a treasure to have around.

Your stars are treasures too. Anxious to see how they all go together.

Mary, looking at all your stars, I like to make some too. Cute friend you have.

OK, I've heard of spoiled cats, but this borders on ridiculous! They learn very quickly how to train us, don't they?

Sounds to me like you do have a pet. :-) Don't you love it when they rearrange your blocks for you?

How nice to have a daily visit from Midnight. I love what you are doing with your squares and your quilting is beautiful!!

Love that picture of Midnight amongst all the stars. That is so typical of a cat. He did make himself a fine mess, didn't he? And I think it's hilarious that he's not even your cat. You're awesome to let him make himself at home like that. And your collection of stars is pretty impressive also. WOW.
