In the next few post I will try and show some of what I've been working on these past weeks. This is Carol's table runner. A simple pattern with leaves appliqued on a background fabric. As I watched this quilt "come to life" I stopped to take a photo to share with you.

It's fabulous Mary! Yes, the quilting makes the quilt!
It's beautiful! I'm definitely going to do some pebbling on my next quilt.
It looks wonderful. I have a handi-quilter and I am stuck in stipple mode. I need to put in some muslin or something and just practice all the wonderful designs I have seen. You have encouraged me in this. I think after the holidays....Then look out...
thanks for sharing.
I do love your pebbles, just the right sizes and touch to the piece. You always seem to know the right design to turn the quilts into a work of art.

It looks wonderful Mary! But I think everything you do is wondeerful.
Speaking of quilting...I really need to get on hubby's machine and start playing with it. It's time to stop avoiding the longarm.
Amen! I really love her applique...but your quilting really made it so very special!
That looks SO awesome! And it will be even better after it's washed and puckers up a little bit - good job!
I have been practicing those. I love what you did with the applique.
Absolutely stunning!!!!
Looks great Mary!! I think this was just the uniqueness this quilt needed!:) A few years ago, I did this type of quilting on a quilt for my husband's stepdad. I did it for a walkway going up to a cabin and it turned out great!
That's unbelievably gorgeous! I would lose my mind stitching all those pebbles! Great job!
I love your pebble quilting...looks fabulous!

Very nicely done. It looks wonderful.
Love the pebbles - perfection!
Love the pebbles, you must be seeing circles all day after that one.
That is so cool! What a difference.
Definitely! I saw the runner on Carol's blog and thought how pretty, now it is stunning. Isn't it fun to watch the transformation?
This is the first time I've seen the pebbles pattern actually on a quilt and I think it's gorgeous. It really makes both the quilting and the leaves stand out. Excellent! blessings, marlene
WOW!
Gorgeous---and time consuming, not to mention thread consuming, I'm sure! Carol should just love it. Fantastic.
I love it , Mary!! Just beautiful!

I think the quilting definitely made the quilt. The leafs are floating on a bed of pebbles, perfect.
Love this. I'm gonna try using pebbles for a runner I have waiting to quilt! Carol's runner looks great - very beachy. :-D
Beautiful! I love quilting pebbles too. It is such a wonderful filler and it looks lovely around those leaves.
I LOVE pebbles on quilts. A friend of mine does AMAZING pebbles on her DSM--so jealous! Your quilting looks amazing also.
Quilting does make the quilt. I'm all for simpler designs like yours to let the quilting shine through..more of an art work piece.
sew pretty it is..like looking from a bridge at the flowers below along the stream... ok, sew that is me.lol
It is gorgeous, Mary. What a great choice for a quilting pattern!!!
So beautiful Mary!
I love that. Have always loved the pebbles quilt design.
Lovely! The applique is wonderful, but with any quilt project, I do think the quilting makes it. Beautiful job!
It certainly did..! The leaves look as if they're lying on a cobblestone path, love it...

Wonderful! I have to try pebbling!
Very cool looking!! Have never tried pebbling - I think I'll have to try it.
Yes! I think it looks like drops of rain coming down on the leaves!
Pebbles are great! They really add a wonderful texture.
Oh, yes....it's beautiful!
I watched a video on You Tube showing how to do the pebbles. Said it took a lot of time to do that style design. That looks mighty good on the runner you are working on.
Wow, that really sets the leaves off. It looks amazing.
Oh My! That is abosultely beautiful! The quilting maje the whole tablerunner just beautiful.
Thanks for sharing.
Paula
I just love how the quilting makes the leaves stand out. It was specially noticeable if you compare the first and last photos in close up. Doing that type of quilting must take forever though.
Absolutely! I love it.
There's a lot to be said for "less is more". Great job, Mary!
Yes, definitely! Amazing texture!
It's fabulous, I love the texture the pebble quilting adds, it must have taken awhile. It looks like a super table runner, nice colours.
I love how it transformed...it's BEAUTIFUL!
YES YES YES, quiting made the quilt - 100% !!!!
Mary, do you program your Statler to do this or do you have to do it all tediously, by self-controling the longarm?
I am TOTALLY in love with the quilting - TOTALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think I like it alot.
That is awesome Mary! WOW! I've been doing a lot of quilting and last night my shoulder was killing me. I could not sleep. And I'm just following a pattern with a laser light. lol I can't imagine how you must hurt.
Your quilting is gorgeous - I love the pebble effect:)
Mary, it is beautiful. I'd offer a back rub if I lived closer, LOL. Doesn't it still amaze you as you watch the quilts (as you say) come to life. I don't think I would ever get over the thrill of seeing each quilts 'personality' start to shine through. Hugs...
Perfect quilting choice, simple & elegant--very labor intensive though for sure.
GASP! I saw a tutorial on making those... I love the look, you did an amzing job!
Mary, beautiful as always. Love the pebbles, lots of work.
Love it!
I looks lovely! Brilliant!
Absolutely Love the quilting on this one!!!! What a gift you have!
Mary it's beautiful...AWESOME job. Have a good Thanksgiving.
Simply seeing the number of comments you've received answers your question, Mary.
Yes--it does make the quilt. It's a simple design but covering the open space with it creates drama! It couldn't have been done any more beautifully! It's truly lovely.
Wow. The quilting really *does* make the quilt! Wonderful job! :)
It wonderful!!!
Happy Thanksgiving day to you...
What I can see of it was beautiful before; the quilting makes it stupendous!
