Puppy Feet Paganini

When Carol told me where she wanted to hang this quilt I asked what she thought of puppy feet quilting. She immediately said YES and now I can see why. Go HERE to see photos of where this quilt will be displayed. I think this quilt is the perfect addition.

Oh My Stars!

This past weekend I spent some time piecing about 40 4.5" star blocks. I'll share why soon enough but for now just had to share these little morsels!

I want more of this fabric! I'm guessing it is about two years old. I purchased the last two FQ's at the Hampton Quilt Show.

Scold me girls! I'm way behind in acknowledging my thank you! Cindy sent me the Santa quilt kit and notepad for the heck of it. I won a $50 FQ gift certificate from Monica applied it to my newest Jo fabrics called Spice Chest, and when I spied the "....and sew on" quilt sign at Carol's blog I just had to have one to had to my collection. In addition, Carol made the needle case as a sweet surprise. Love my blog buds! Thank you for thinking of me.

Jo Morton Meet Lori Smith

Some leftover nine patch blocks of Jo Morton fabrics with Lori Smith's Fat Quarter Quilting pattern makes for one cute little quilt top!

A few close ups so you can see that pretty brown print.

Now for some quilting!

Just want to say.....

Enjoy your day!
Small quilt was gifted to me from Wendy long ago. I just moved its location and love it so much thought it was worthy to share again.

New Kitchen Counter

Here I am standing in my kitchen with my new quartz countertops that were installed on Friday. Love em!

We spent Saturday at the NC State Fair among crowds and crowds of people! The day was gorgeous but with so many people trying to enjoy and see displays was a bit much for me. This was my first time to the state fair here and I was disappointed at how they displayed the quilts. I guess lack of space? They hung the quilts on long hanger like arms and a woman was standing below with a long stick turning the quilts slowly for viewers. It took forever to try and see them this way. I didn't have the patience nor did I pull out the camera. I did enjoy the fair foods!

Le Petite Project Finish Schnibbles Paganini

My first finish for the Le Petite year of small projects hosted by Sinta and Sherri. Our first project is a Schnibbles pattern called Paganini by Miss Rosies Quilt Co. I received many comments on the Fall into Fall Give Away of quilters asking what a Schnibbles because of the FREE Schnibbles quilting coupon. I've given you the link to check out the Schnibble patterns at Miss Rosies Quilt Co. website. You still have time to enter my give away by going to this LINK.

Paganini pattern has four different versions so you get more bang for you buck with this one! I chose to make version 1 with scalloped border. Dawn from Linen Closet Quilts posted a wonderful tutorial to help with the scallops that is different than the Schnibble pattern. I made mine using Dawn's directions since I quilted my top from edge-to-edge first.
This is the back and perhaps a better few of the quilting motif I chose. Since I used Moda's Butterfly Garden charms I decided to use butterflies and flowers quilting and felt even the scallops set of this butterfly theme nicely. What do you think?

I Love Portabella Baskets!

Several weeks ago Karen posted this beautiful top that she appliqued and pieced. I fell in love with it especially because it was appliqued baskets with a gorgeous fabric line.

I'm absolutely in love with this quilt and couldn't wait to quilt, wash, dry and crinkle it! Karen has been absolutely wonderful to me in SEW many ways. Her applique work is AMAZING! Thank you Karen....time and time again!

I shared with you this Chain Saw quilt that I quilted earlier in the year. Do you know that I have NEVER entered a quilt show besides the Schnibble I submitted on-line this year? Well, this is a first for me when I opened the email today that read, "Mary, you will be getting a ribbon in the mail for being the machine quilter, who made my quilt shine!" Jan took third place in the large pieced category. Congrats Jan!

I'm Still Here....

I received a few emails asking if all was ok since I hadn't posted in several days. Just busy with a variety of things from contractor in my kitchen, doctor visit for an unexpected sick kid, varied errands and some quilting.

This was a custom quilt I did for a gal who doesn't blog but found my blog. I wished the work I did on this one would show up better.

Then I received this envelope in the mail that brought a big smile to my face! It feels so good to know she liked my work. I think the mail carrier knows too! LOL

Are You Considering A GO?

Many of you have already seen the big announcement from Accuquilt this past Friday with the news about the NEW Baby GO! and lots of new dies right? If not, scoot on over to Accuquilt and check it out! They have a handy dandy chart that explains differences in the three models. I think many of you are now questioning which one would be best for your quilting needs and budget. So continue reading...

Today was GO! day using Robbing Peter to Pay Paul die. I was a bit worried about sewing the curves so I had purchased a Curve Master foot in case I needed it. Bloggers alerted me to this foot with rave reviews. Obviously I haven't much patience today as it was a pain and tossed back into the packaging to keep for another day. I'm sure once mastered it could be a great tool and I wouldn't require use of all the pins.

This GO! die is NOT compatible with the NEW GO! Baby. I said IS NOT! So I say again, if you are considering a GO! you need to know that NOT ALL of Accuquilt's dies work on the Baby GO!

I love this die! I whipped up these four blocks in no time flat. The die has notches for easy alignment of your pieces and LOOK I made four without any extra tools besides my pins! I originally planned a runner but then the GO! die comes with a free pattern to make nifty round pillow....decisions, decisions! I'll think on it a bit.
