Love These!!

A friend of mine emailed me yesterday with photos of her hairless kitty. Love these!

The caption read, "I need a machine with more head room!"

Thought I'd share a photo of the back of a recent quilt. I would love this as a wholecloth for my own bed and then decorate with whatever fabric lines and topper patterns I wanted regularly.
One more thing I love is this blog! Jill takes quilting to another level for me. Jill's work is amazing and I do believe she is a true quilt artist! Take your time while there and scroll through older post...seriously amazing work here! Heck, tell her I sent you.
Also I know so many of you are after the Accuquilt GO! and so here is another opportunity for you to enter at Ariane's blog with no hoops!
I'll see you here Friday for the Fall into Fall Giveaway post.

Just a Quick Post to Start off the Week

Here are a few small spool blocks that I made yesterday. The larger square could be used as a coaster or small little quilt. The other smaller spool blocks still need to be stuffed with crushed walnut shells for pincushions. I plan to gift these.
Here is how many of the Accuquilt GO! Bountiful Baskets I have made so far. This is a work in progress with no deadline. Remember all the grief these gave me a while back? I'd say I got a "handle" on it now.

I just have to share this quilt with you. It isn't mine but oh so wonderful for Fall that I just had to share! The owner used the FREE pattern from Moda Bake Shop called, "Sweet Menagerie
Nine Patch."

She chose Botanical Blossoms for the edge-to-edge quilting. I just love how the leaves in the quilting motif play off the prints.

Enjoy your week! Don't forget to check back here on Friday for the Fall into Fall Give Away I'm participating in. Learn more here!

Five minutes later and I had cut 44 more basket blocks! Now if I could only piece them so quickly right?! Love the GO! cutter and can't wait for the new announcement from Accuquilt on October 1st.
What your really here for is to see your name right? The winner of the quilt top after a whopping 94 comments is "onlymehere."
It was also this post that I asked you to say Quilt Hollow sent you. You guys were wonderful and I see you actually read what I have to say. LOL What is funny is some didn't comment at my post and scurried on over there. Winona you need to contact me with your address so I can send you out a little surprise.
Another giveaway to be announced next week as I am participating in the Fall into Fall Giveaway held HERE. You won't want to miss it!!

Accuquilt Announcing NEW Bundle of Joy

Today I received an email from Carolyn at Accuquilt asking to help spread word of the NEW GO! announcement on October 1st. Here is a link of the "birth" they would like to share with you! I'm guessing possibly a new electric GO?! How will they improve an already fantastic product?!! I'm looking forward to their announcement.

I can't believe so many comments received for my little quilt top giveaway in previous post! There hasn't been much time to respond to everybody just yet. I'm delighted for your visit and of course all important comment. I'll draw a name tomorrow....but also awhile back I had asked you to mention my name at a certain somebody's blog....from those names on that person's blog I will be choosing another winner of a little something else. I just love surprises don't you?

I best getting GOing! I've got a quilt to finish on Gam and then I can play with GO!

Giving Away

This is a top I made awhile back using the Lil Twister tool. It's not quilted and perfect for Fall. If your interested you know the drill. Winner will be announced on Thursday.

Last Friday I visited the North Carolina Longarmers Quilt Show. I was able to meet Tonya in person and if you want a glimpse of us together please visit her blog. At the same show I had the good fortune to also meet up with Carrie P. again. We don't live that far from one another so you think we would get together now and then wouldn't you?!

This past week I sent out a few emails requesting addresses. A few surprises will be sent soon.

New Book!, Gifts, and GO!

Dawn at Linen Closet Quilts sent a copy of her newly released book called, "Cottage Charm." It is a beautiful book filled with both quilt and cross-stitch projects.

I'm sorry that the photos turned but here I try to show you a little glimpse into details of what you would find inside her book. There is a framed stitchery piece called, "Fresh Cut Tulips" that brings me immediately back to my days of living in The Netherlands. Do you see the applique rabbit above? OMG!! Dawn's quilt design called, "In My Garden" is absolutely darling! Rose of Sharon applique pieces, rabbits, carrots and a scalloped border!!

Two gifts of friendship from my fellow blogging buddies Darlene at Quilting Daze and Shelley of Red Quilts.
Darlene made the sweetest little scissor fob and Shelley sent a tin with wonderful 2.5" strips and her hubby made the thread minder. I keep saying my mailbox is a wonderful place to be and above is a good sampling of why. Thank you so much!
Shelley is having a 100 post giveaway that started today! You do not want to miss it! I want the wool pincushion for myself but she has other fun things too!

The big brown truck showed up today with dies that I won from both Sew Cindy and Tonya's Sewing Room. What you see is Double Wedding Ring, Robbing Peter/Pay Paul, Hexagons and Rose of Sharon. Guess what I just realized?!!!! Call me slow....Rose of Sharon and Dawn's "In My Garden!" (so glad I requested that die!!)
I found many of you read my post about Accuquilt looking for bloggers where I gave you the link to send them your blog for consideration for the GO! I've been hearing back from many of you that you need at least 100 followers and this has sent a frenzy through blogland of everybody wanting followers. I initially helped the first person who told me this and after posting for her I received numerous request of needing followers. Becoming a follower used to be something special I thought. Am I wrong? In the beginning I fell in love with a blog and decided I had to follow them as I didn't want to miss a single post. Then there are the giveaway post requesting you become a follower to be entered (the bribe post). I guess what I am saying is the follower thing doesn't mean squat to me anymore. The only thing that matters to me is when you have the time to leave a comment on my blog post to say you have visited me this is what means most! Followers shouldn't be a popularity contest should it? I do realize that many of my blog friends are requesting followers for the GO! and gosh I can't blame them. SO for that reason only I am requesting that every blog you visit...become a follower!

It's a GO!

It's a GO! If your confused on why I am showing you these basket blocks than you have missed hearing my frustrations of how to attach the handle and you need to see my previous post for the video tutorial. These were made using my GO! and the Bountiful Baskets die. Now that I have a "handle" on making these I'll make many more blocks. I can officially say I am glad I own this die for my GO! The only thing left to do is to hand or machine stitch the top side of the handles down.

Bountiful Baskets GO! Die Update

Remember awhile back my pure frustration with this block? Then I read on another blog the same frustration and that blogger trashed the die cut handles and used rick rack trim. Thank goodness I was not alone is all I can say about that!

I contacted Alex Anderson and she was the sweetest gal telling me it can be done. A few emails between us back and forth; Alex posted her tutorial HERE! Her tutorial shows you how to cut and make the block without the GO! die. This weekend I plan to try it again Alex's way and because you don't need the GO! to make this block my challenge to you is to see if you can do it too. I'd love to know if you made one and also would love to see your block if you would share. Just one...makes a pin cushion!!

Who Can Sleep With This News?!

Here's the finished Sherman's March quilt that is now on it's way back home. Don't we all love our personal quilt holders?
Last night was a sleepless night for me. I woke about 3am and fired up the computer in hopes I'd find sleep soon thereafter. As I was reviewing my email subject lines I was seeing words like "Congrats!", "You lucky devil" and "YIPPEE." What little sleep I had in my eyes I could see I apparently won something my mind was racing. What had I won?!
OMG!! I feel so lucky to have won three GO! dies from Tonya's Sewing Room and Accuquilt! Do you think I would be able to go back to bed to sleep now?! Who can sleep after receiving this awesome news!
The photo was taken from Accuquilt. I've requested Winding Ways, Rose of Sharon and Hexagons as my die selection.
Today is Friday! On Friday at the Accuquilt Facebook page they give away a GO! for simply filling out the survey with your answer to a random question they ask. The winner is always sent an email on Friday afternoon to tell them if they have won. What are you waiting for? Get over there and enter!!!

Quilting Away My Days

This quilt is called "Sherman's March" and belongs to a no blog quilter so I don't think she would mind my sharing where I am at with it. I'm quilting away my days on this one and hope to have it back out in the mail to her by Friday. I absolutely love how quilting plays across the quilt top. I stitched in the ditch to "stabilize" the quilt before quilting the motifs. This is something to keep in mind while you are quilting your top; consider your stitch in the ditch quilting as your stablizer and then play with fun designs to make your blocks POP!

Charming Girls Quilt Club and More

After seeing the response from my last post I decided to stop ignoring Lexie and give her attention again, so that afternoon I went out and did just that. I felt I had enough "ammo" or responses to respond to the owner if she confronted me again thanks to your comments. Well, now I have no clue what has happened to Lexie. I haven't seen or heard her in days. I'm hoping they are taking good care of her or better yet a new loving home!

My mailbox is a wonderful place to hang out. I won a book and FQ from Becky, and also won a pattern from Robin, and then a surprise card with a Starbucks gift card arrived "just because" from a very special blogget friend and only because we live so far apart and can't do coffee together!

Kelly of Charming Chatter has asked us to post our goals. Here are a few though I have many! I'm a longarm quilter and had an enjoyable time chatting it up with Kelly on the phone earlier this week about quilting....oh and placing my order in her shop!
The above is a huge customer quilt that will be custom quilted. (I'm not taking any more custom orders at this time however I am still accepting to quilt edge-to-edge) I've got quilt tops waiting to be quilted for clients and I hope to have a few of my own finishes especially before holiday gift giving time. If you will need a quilt top quilted before the holidays it is best to book with your longarmer now!

I've got the latest Schnibble in the house! I think I can, I think I can..... hopefully I can join in! It is a plan anyway.

I love the Snap Happy bags by Stitchin Sisters! These are gifts...so hey YOU might have one in your mailbox within the next few months. (laughing here....if I can finish them!)
Lastly, remember a few post back when I was having a time with the basket handle from the GO! die called, "Bountiful Baskets" and then I finally did it my way? Well, this morning I popped in at Vicki's blog and found she too had frustrations with that handle! Be sure to go over and read it! Does anybody personally know Alex Anderson? Do you think we can convince her to have a YouTube video of her using this die and making that handle happen?!
