Spring time is here! (or Summer?)

Happy Easter to everybody. We have unseasonably HOT weather here in NC. I'm not quite sure but I think we skipped Spring? I've even put my hummingbird feeders out because according the the hummingbird migration map they are already in the state. I'm anxiously awaiting my own personal sighting.

I just couldn't stand to have this top sit unquilted for long. I knew that I wanted to use this swirl motif in each block.

Then the borders a swirl to match. All I need now is to get the binding made and stitched onto my little quilt.

Oops...a photo turn. What I wanted to point out so you won't miss is in the May/June 2010 McCall's Quilting magazine on page 75 is a coupon for $10 off your next purchase at FQ Shop.
The June issue of American Patchwork & Quilting arrived yesterday as well and I just have to say, WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE THIS ISSUE!! Just about every quilt in this one is so me!
Just a few days left until my giveaway mentioned on previous post. Only those who enter on previous post will be in the draw.

I agree. I just received my American Patchwork & Quilting magazine, and I am so happy with their quilts this time :-) I'd love to make them all! We need to write them and let them know THESE are the type of projects we LOVE!

I am so glad that you are recommending APQ magazine. I haven't seen the new one yet but I think the last few have been duds...everything is getting to easy and too modern for my taste.

As always, beautiful quilting Mary! I just received my AP&Q today and I agree, it's a great issue. This has always been my favorite magazine. I love their Quilt Sampler issues. We are finally having some of that beautiful weather in South Jersey.

Ohh, loving the swirls in each block. Looking very smart and fun!

I let my subscription end as I am overwhelmed already with quilting ideas, but may just have to get one as it is my fave magazine.

Happy Spring/Summer Easter!

Mary, your quilt is absolutely beautiful. I love that pattern. I'm so excited to get my new American Patchwork & Quilting magazine. It should be here today (I hope). Your weather sounds absolutely wonderful...it snowed here all day yesterday and then last night it was a heavy duty thunder, lightening and the hail for about 45 minutes. **sigh** I'm still waiting for spring here, LOL. Hugs coming your way.

Well if the patterns in the APandQ magazine is so you, then it is going to be so me as I LOVE everything you do!! I have to check it out!

Love your quilt and the bunnies are so cute, too! I am cleaning my hummingbird feeders right now as the map shows they are already up here, too. The first to appear are the males scouting out suitable areas for food and nesting and they say if you get these first "guys" with your feeders, you will keep them all summer as they will bring their mates to your yard.

Very nice swirls! I love your quilting design. Every time I visit here, I get the idea I need a longarm machine!

Can't wait to get my issue in the mail. If all the projects are "so you," I know I'm going to love it!

Happy Easter - glad you are having warm weather and that the humming birds are coming. Our three that have wintered over are still delighting us by our kitchen window.

Thanks for the magazine tip. At the bookstore this issue is wrapped in plastic. I don't buy them when they are wrapped in plastic, but I just might now. Have a happy Easter. I didn't see a single hummingbird until July last year, but they stayed until the end of September. But I'll fill mine up now. I love this weather, although my husband is threatening to put the air coniditioner on if it gets too hot.

Just picked up McCall's today, I'll have to look for that coupon. I"m still waiting for new P&Q!

I love your rabbits!!! Yuor quilting looks fantastic. It always amazes me how a quilt seems to come alive once the quilting has been done. (I commented on your last post but please don't enter me in the draw because postage for two books to Australia will be too expensive).

Have a Happy Easter.

The quilting on this is beautiful! I love it much. Happies are on the way this morning!! Hugs and Happy Easter!!! :)

Vivian said...

The swirls are lovely!

I have too many quilting mag. subscriptions to keep track. I had to check the pile to see if AP&Q had come yet. Not yet.
I go through streaks of loving and disliking each of my magazines. About the time I want to let a subscription die quietly, an issue comes that makes me smile from ear to ear. Looking forward to seeing this one.

It is hot here in Va., too. I made hummingbird juice this morning after I had cleaned out the feeder but dau. Shirley comes along and says it's too early. Maybe I'll make some kool-aid out of that sweeten juice. (grin)

What kind of feeders did you put out? I'm looking for some online and came across Perky-Pet's Top Fill feeders. They look interesting since they're designed for easy filling and cleaning. Have you heard of these?
