Jo Meets Schnibbles

I've seen more than my fair share of snow! Snowed in all weekend and now schools are closed tomorrow due to roads still being iced over. Thankfully we have power so I was able to get quite a bit accomplished.

Last week I cut all my Jo Morton fabrics into strips and 5" squares. I'm so hooked on the Schnibbles patterns and wanted one in the fabric colors that I truly love. The last several days I I've been stitching and today I got the top on the frame, quilted and binding sewn on for hand stitching this evening.

Debating how I wanted to quilt it, I finally decided on one of my favorite's called, "Deb's Feathers." This quilt motif just adds so much texture...love it! Oh, and this quilt is mine all mine!

Schnibbles are small enough quilts that would cost too much to send to a longarmer. It does take time to load the top and then the quilting for this small top. I've been giving this some thought. I know several bloggers have Schnibbles that they would love to see something like Deb's Feathers or designs seen in my previous post on your quilts. Please contact me if you are interested in a deal I can offer you.

Lastly strings! Oh yes, I made 12 strings blocks on Thursday while my gal pal Bonnie came over for a day of stitching and chatting. This was one of those no need to think patterns that was perfect for focusing on friendship and making an honest attempt at emptying the drawer of strips.

The quilting is absolutely gorgeous and I love the fabrics that you used on Picnic. I always struggle over the quilting part.

Your string quilt blocks look fabulous too.

Look at you go, Girl!
Jo makes a fabulous debut.
And what's wonderful - YOU are keeping it for YOU.

And your strings - how many women have such cool strings?

I cannot wait to see how your quilt the strings.

Oh, I love that in the Jo fabrics! It's so *YOU*! Great job on the quilting, too (as always). I like the feather design. I love everything about this quilt!

And you string blocks are stunning! I'm so glad you didn't lose power. At least you were able to get some quilting done!

One of my quilty friends told me on Friday that she had just discovered Jo Morton fabrics. I asked her "where she had been hiding?" Seriously! The Schnibbles looks good! How long did it take for you to make your own charm packs?

Your talent is amazing. I hadn't thought about the fact they'd be too expensive to send to a quilter. Thanks for the heads up.

Oh Mary it's gorgeous and all done in my colours. I love the Deb's feathers, it really shows off the quilt. Being snowed in is not so bad after all.

Two stunning projects. I fear I need to join the followers of the Schnibbles. They're so sweet, and I love all the varieties I see, based on the different fabric selections.

Are these Schnibbles quilts made from individual patterns? Or is there a book with all the patterns? They sure look like a lot of fun!

Beautiful. What a great thing to do for a snow day or two. I really like the string quilt too. I have been working on one out of scraps I bought off a local quilt store here several years ago when she was cleaning out after inventory. Thanks for the inspiration to get back to it. Also, what is Schnibbles?

Chelle (Dana) said...

Boy, you are putting them out fast! Love Jo's fabrics in a Schnibbles and good you get to keep this one for yourself. Now show us where you use it in your home. Also love the string quilt, did you use muslin for the backing or a pattern? That's a great way to use up strips and it looks like you used different sizes too. Love it!

You see...I knew that I should have come to visit you this weekend! Then I could have been locked in the "Hollow" for sure!

Love your Schnibbles and the fact that you are using your favorite fabrics. What's up next?????

XOXO!

The Jo Morton fabrics are so pretty with the baskets! Very appropriate, both very tradition patterns.

Can't wait to see what you do with the strips. I keep thinking I should make a strip block after I cut out a quilt..all those little odd sized strips that I either toss in the trash or in my scrap bin...make a leaders and ender cutting block.
