Another One I Love...

You'll have to hear me say it again....love this one! I won't show the whole quilt because it belongs to our blogging friend Karen and I bet she would love to share the final reveal.

A wee bit of piecing has turned scraps into this small quilt top. I wonder if after quilted and before binding if I used some ric rack in between quilt and binding how that would look. If so, what color? Or on the other hand, if I made the binding scrappy? The blocks are set with a deep dark chocolate brown.

OOOOOOOOOHHHHH!! Mary! I have a great big happy grin!! It looks so wonderful! I know you worked hard on this one!!! Thank-you!! :0) I can't wait to see it in person!! :0) (0:

As for your little chocolate quilt, I would say if you do rick rack that it should be in the red family. Scrappy binding sounds like a great way to use up those left over scraps.

How delightful. Ohhh Luv this one. While you're musing about the treatment of this little adorable quilt I'd just have to say I love scrappy bindings! In general. For most things. I've only recently found I don't enjoy making them for large quilts though.

But this little cutie - definitely! I can't wait to see the QUILTING you're going to do here, too. That's going to be lovely.

You do beautiful quilting!! I love your little quilt and although I love me some ric-rac I would go with scrappy binding on that one...either way it's just adorable!

I've only done one scrappy binding, but I loved the way it looked.

What's not to love about that quilt? Even when I can only see a small portion, I can tell it is beautiful.
That little one is lovely....listen, it's asking for scrappy binding

They are both great. I love brown. I am a big fan of scrappy binding. It provides a little extra interest not to mention uses up left over fabric.

Rust colored rick rack would be my choice.

Mary I am sure that whatever you decide for the little quilt it will be delightful.

I agree with Karen, rick rack in the red family would be very nice. Nice job using up scraps too!!

Oh, cool! The extra-large rick rack in a baby blue. Wow! That would be really sweet! And then a chocolate brown binding...yeah, that's it!

I'll watch what you do and not influence you, either way I love the little quilt.

I like the idea of scrappy binding too, it adds a special little extra something to quilts (I've only done 2 but loved the effect)

I have done a scrappy binding on a scrappy quilt and it just makes it look that much better.

Another fabulous job! Can't wait for Karen to reveal! I like the scrappy binding idea. They always seem to pull the quilt together and add so much interest. Love those little ones!

If you are going to do rick rack, I would do it in brick red or maybe a gray-blue. I think rick rack would be a nice twist!

Geeze, Mary. I wouldn't want your job. I'd never want to give anything back. That's one beautiful quilt, Karen!

Whatever you choose for the little quilt will be the right decision and will look stunning. Make sure you show it to us when you're done.

I love what you did with Karen's quilt! The quilt itself is very pretty, and your quilting is perfect! I'll be checking in in Karen to see the quilt in its entirety.

Chocolate brown -- my favorite color! Ric rack or a scrappy binding? Maybe both! But I definitely like the idea of the scrappy binding.

I just noticed that you changed your blog header. Great sign!

I love Karen's quilt! I was thinking blue for the rick rack. That's just me though, everything is always blue with me.

I see Karen is already liking her quilt. It looks good to me too.
I see a lot of ladies are liking the scrappy binding but I think some kind of red rick rack under the same brown fabric as the border would look great but you probably already have it done so my opinion probably doesn't matter at this point. LOL

What a cute scrappy quilt. I think a scrappy binding will be very nice, but a binding with one piece of fabric will be perfect too. Now we just have to wait and see what you are going to do.

Oh wow mary. I love your mini too. Thank you for your nice comment on my mini :-)

I love that little quilt... I think I would use prairie points rather than rick rack? My sister hates it when I just add to her choices rather than help narrow them down!?

I think red and brown look really good together and your mini quilt has a good use of red ;)

can't wait to see it finished. How big are your blocks used in it? I'm in the middle of making my first ever mini quilt for an exchange and I'm loving it.

Mind if I save a photo of yours fr my mini quilt inspiration folder??? ;) Love from Texas! ~bonnie
