Where Did Last Week Go?

Melody sent me a package from a giveaway she had. She surprised me with lots of extra goodies tucked inside. It was a very welcomed package in the midst of all else that was happening to me this past week. If you go to her blog she has another wonderful little giveaway; see my sidebar.
My husband told me last night I was lagging in my blog post. He reads the blog; should I show him how to post? Hmmm... I've got nothing unless you would like to hear about the rash that started a week ago yesterday, then I went to the dentist mid-week and spent three hours in the dental chair as he prepped two teeth for crowns. Then I woke Saturday morning with the gift of a sore throat from my guys who had one earlier in the week. As for that rash, it kept getting worse and last night the itch unbearable as I tried to sleep. My doctor tells me it is likely Pityriasis Rosea. He has hooked me up with predisone, a cream, antihistamines and Benadryl to knock me out at night. He tells me it may last several months. Lovely, right?

I think I have finally come to the realization that doctors only have bad things to say. I mean think about it ...... "I'm sorry, I have bad news for you and by the way that will be $5,000 to tell you that". Guess it's time to quilt to take your mind off of things!

Good lord! Talk about everything at one time. Rest up and I hope you feel better soon.

Great. Just great. Knowing your strong immune system, you'll kick this stuff sooner than MONTHS but if it's to be that way, lets make a quilt in honor of the itch that needs to be scratched! You start...

Oh wait, support is what's needed her, support!

Oh, my gosh! When I saw the name of the condition, I thought for sure it must be fatal! LOL! It looks like the itching will go away before the rash, though, so maybe you won't lose your mind while you're recovering. Hope it settles down soon and the Benadryl helps you sleep!

Geeze, I just read throught the link describing what you've got. Yikes!

Just whine alot and look for sympathy from your DH. It might help, right?

I've had PR, and a little daily sunlight on the area of the rash helped. Fortunately, it's still summer! Get well soon.

Jeez, don't we face enough in adulthood without developing a RASH? Sorry to hear you got one and hope the meds work pronto! Glad to know some fabric gave you a little cheer :)

Oh no, I certainly hope it goes away quicker than that! Take care of yourself and maybe you can just dictate your blog to your husband and have him post it while you're getting better, lol! There is a wonderful quote from the mid-1800s that says, "If the women do not accomplish as much as the men, perhaps it is because they don't have any wives to help them." Brigham Young

That quote hangs on my wall, I love it! Get well soon.

Mary,
I do hope you feel better sooner rather than later. I hope your Doctor is wrong about the length of time for that rash. Take good care of yourself.

Congrats on winning the giveaway!
I say "No husbands allowed". LOL!!! After reading some of the other comments, I dared to be different!!!!
Well, I have to say I have never heard of this rash before. Seems pretty nasty to me. I bet soaking in a tub of baking soda might help. Better yet! A trip to your favorite quilt shop!!!!!!!!

What a week to erase from the calendar! Hope your case only lasts a little while.

Be aware the prednisone can interfere with your sleep patterns, so if the Benadryl makes you sleepy, best to work your schedule to take a dose at night to help.
