Of Heart and Hand

Darlene posted a few days ago some very pretty little quilts that she was sending as surprises to unsuspecting blog friends. I could have never imagined that I was one of them. This little quilt was made from her heart and hands as an act of kindness and friendship. It will be a treasure in my home for many, many years to come! Several months back we both found we were looking for the same exact background fabric, she used that fabric as the background in this quilt and now that too will be a fond memory. I can't even begin to say just how surprised I was and oh how this really made by day! After discovering the package in the mailbox I think my feet left the ground and I flew back inside the house. Thank you "Ms. Speedy" (my nickname for her). PS....little Ms. Speedy is having a birthday this Sunday.

Several weeks ago I received a pattern and charm pack from Sheri. I believe the fabric comes out in September so I'm really tickled to have been able to work with something so NEW! This is a table topper that you quilt-as-you-go and no binding! Simply wash and TA DA...soft and cuddly. Thanks again Sheri.
Why does Blogger turn photos?!

This little number is finally finished! What do you think Wendy? She posted hers a long time ago and of course I had guilt because I had my blocks sitting after embroidery (for months!) Then I decided to go ahead with embroidery in the border. Again, taking back seat to other projects. Finally today I finished stitching on the little wool berries.

I love the title of this post -- so appropriate. The quilt Darlene made is so adorable. It just looks like you, doesn't it? What a treasure.

The charm pattern is very interesting. It's awfully cute, but the interesting part is the quilt-as-you-go and no binding. Sounds like it would be a quick one to do.

I'm loving your little basket quilt. The embroidered border is a very nice touch. Congratulations on finishing it and your charm pack quilt!

Your are "Doubly" lucky! I think the quilt that Darlene made for you "looks-like you"....Don't you just love it when surprises show up in your mailbox! I always scream at the mailbox and then run inside my house. I know that the neighbors think that I am crazy! If they only knew.

I can't wait to see that
table quilt.

What an ADORABLE little quilt...I just love the fabrics in it. That quilt-as-you go pattern looks very interesting, too. As for sideways photos, I find when it happens, I need to delete them and then go into my photo files and make them a tiny bit smaller and then when I try to post them again, they USUALLY are not turned sideways. I don't know why it happens...and it doesn't always happen, but it is very annoying, isn't it?
