It's A Surprise...Keep Reading

Thirsty? It has been Grand Central Station around here for the past few weeks. Love it!

My blocks for the Civil War Signature Swap hosted by Melissa are finished with exception of writing my name, city and state seventy times. I used a good tea dye muslin and Jo Morton fabrics. Seventy blocks make 140 1/2 square triangles and that is exactly what I did. I'm not tossing good fabrics into the trash when I can make another one of these.
I mentioned in an earlier post that I had more Thimbleberries kits to giveaway. How surprised I was to find over 100 comments left on my giveaway last week. Just say FREE, right? Well, it got me thinking as I watched blog friends comment on the previous post; these are the gals who frequent my blog. In fact, most getting to know me better outside of the blog. SO....I tossed all names into the hat and had a surprise giveaway! Yep! You didn't even see it coming! So here's hoping she is still reading the blog (LOL).....Karen of Quilts A Lot. Send me your address and I'm sending out a Thimbleberries Watermelon Table Topper Kit.

Wow you've got your blocks already pieced and now it's just the writing part - 70 times, lol. You go girl :). Pretty colors

Your siggie blocks are just wonderful.

That's awesome. Congrats Karen. I just know she is going to be so excited. Love your siggie blocks. I was in a swap a few years ago and we did this same pattern with Jo Morton fabrics. I still have my blocks but haven't sewn them together yet, I should do that sometime. That's why I didn't do this swap because I already have siggie blocks.

Oh, my gosh! I was in the middle of sending you an e-mail, and decided to hop over and see if you had posted a picture. Did you hear a high-pitched squeal when I saw your blocks? :) Too pretty! I like the way you used different fabrics for the corners.

That's such a good idea to have a surprise give-away. Hmmmm . . . Congratulations to Karen!

Thanks for reminding me to make the little 1/2 square triangles from each corner as I sew them--I often do that -- of course I have yet to sew them into something???? But they are ready for when ever!!! I said I would take the whole month of August and just do Chmas projects, and I even have a challenge out there to other blogs--so I will not get to my blocks til Sept--(unless I just can't stand everyone else getting ahead of me?????) Have a great Day--hug, just, Di Congrads to Karen

Congrats to Karen on the giveaway....and I LOVE how you did this one. I'm going to do one of my giveaways the same way......as I really like winners of my giveaways to be my "regulars". :) GOOD for you on getting the siggy blocks done, too. Don't get writer's cramp by doing the signing all at one time! LOL

WOW! Way to go girl! I am so impressed that you have all your siggy blocks done. And what a smart idea to keep all the cut off half square triangles!!! I might just have to dig through my waste basket looking for mine.

Hi, Mary,
I love suprises too...so fun to get mail from blog friends. Before it was just bills and junk mail in the box.
Perhaps after I get my house back together, I can find my sewing machine again. I'm rather looking forward to it. Hope you are having a good weekend. ~Natalie
