Do You Have Fish Scraps?

Well, if you were checking in to see this quilt I have to disappoint in today's post but do promise to show it the very next time around! I've nearly got the top finished, really I do!

Must share my mailbox. Oh I just love the blooms!

I found this quilt somewhere on internet a few years ago and can't remember where. I have to apologize I can't give credit to the person who made it. If somebody recognizes or knows this person please let me know. I've been saving this picture in hopes of someday making this quilt for future grandkids. The little fish bowls are different than "kitchen pantry" jars and the little kitty looking at the aquarium in the middle just makes me smile. It doesn't require large pieces of fish fabric (exception of middle) but rather 8.5" squares is what I would like to use and am looking for fish scraps from other quilters who are willing to part with just one 8.5" square. If you have a square to spare would you contact me for my mailing address? Thanks bunches!

I used to have clematis around my mailbox like that. It was always so skinny and whimpy. Finally got rid of it this year but haven't replaced it yet. You know I don't have any novelty fish fabric or I would send one to you. If I ever see a fat quarter.......

Sorry about Meowzer.......

Your mailbox is awesome and I'm soooo jealous! My clematis hasn't even started to sprout yet but the temps are supposed to reach the high 70's by Saturday. Woo hoo!

Thanks for the Moewzer update. 0:(

Your fishy quilt is wonderfully different and so much fun. Can't help you with additional fabric with fish...but how about birds?

I do not have any fish fabric. The quilt sure would be a cute one for a child. A lot like the idea for the bug jar quilt blocks.
I hope Meowzer returns!

Your mailbox looks BEAUTIFUL. The quilt is adorable and I can see why you'd want to make it. I wish I had some fish scraps to share. I used to have some Nemo fabric but between myself and a friend, it's gone now.

Your mailbox is so pretty. My clematis just has a few leaves on it at this point. It is the same color as yours and just lights up the yard when it blooms. I have no fish fabric but if I see any I will share. My heart aches that Meowser has not returned. Hugs

Mary, your mailbox is adorable with all the flowers. It has to be a happy walk to the mailbox looking at all the colorful flowers.

That is a neat fish and cat quilt. I will have to go and look to see if I have fish fabrics. And I am so sorry Mauser never came home.

Take your time doing the mystery quilt. It is better to do a good job, then to hurry and have to get Mr. Seam Ripper out. :o)
Your clematis are gorgeous! I keep trying to convince my Dh that we should try growing some.
I did have some Debbie Mumm fishy fabric somewhere. Hmm, I will look and see if I can find it.
I am sorry Meowzer has not returned. Hugs.

Mary, your mailbox is beautiful and so welcoming. I'm afraid I don't have anything fishy in my fabric stash, but that would be a great quilt for Grandbabies. *S*

I have about a fat quarter of goldfish with bubbles on a bluish-green background I can send you, for sure. Can you use it?

Carrie P. said...

My clematis is slow growing compared to yours. Just the vines so far.
Love that quilt, so does my daughter. Sorry no fish fabric here

I did find a couple of fish fabrics I can pass along so send me your addy. And I'm NOT happy with you as now I have to add another quilt to my 'bucket list'! LOL

if you get desperate you could resort to applique. I found this site today http://www.freeapplique.com/ with several fish and other sea creatures (under 2 different links). I just love this idea and would be happy to take any fabric you have left over if you get too much. (silly me, is there really such a thing as too much fabric????) best to you and your project.

I just LOVE this fishbowl idea. Would like to creat one sometime, so if you do find out who's pattern it is, please post.

Hugs

will send you several fish fabric squares. The ladies at About Quilting had a fish bowl block swap and I have lots of scraps from that.
Just need your snail mail addy?

I absolutely love you quilts and quilting. I'm not sure how bloggers see posts, but I've started way back at the beginning so I can see what I've missed over the years.
The clematis looks so good on the mailbox!! Fish fabric isn't anything I would have ever bought, but that quilt is really cute. I've seen lots of pantry jar quilts and ones with insects too.
