If you ever have opportunity to see the comedy quilt show of
Sue Patton and
Karen McTavish I suggest you don't walk but run to get to it! Drive miles if you have too.....it is well worth the evening of entertainment that these two gals provide. They are a hoot! One of our guild member's is also the quilt shop owner of
Ye Olde Forest Quilting in Greensboro and has Sue and Karen in all week for a huge quilting event. In addition, our guild sponsored a quilt show and lecture for all the area guilds. I'm told that they will be at the shop through Saturday giving free demonstrations of their work. Oh, how I'd love to go but last night was also son #2's opening night to the play and it runs all weekend....and I'm working it. I'm thankful he told me that my missing his opening night wasn't a big deal to him. You know, the mom guilt thing?

I'd honestly have to say that these two gals have got to be the hippest coolest quilters with awesome personalities to boot! Check out those tattoos!

Now, if your tattoos are "McTavished" that's saying something!! I'm sure this will be well attended and greatly appreciated!
These look like my kinda gals!
What fun!!! Wish I was closer.
I wish i was closer too!
What is your son's play? You must be proud!

I have seen them on TV, but what a great opportunity to see them in real life. I think everybody knows Karen by her tattoos. The last time on Simply Quilts she only had tattoos on one arm.
What a nice son. I'll patiently wait to hear about your son's play.
I have not heard of these gals, but they look like a fun pair!
Sounds like a great time! Thanks for the tip. I"ll keep my eyes open in case they are ever in our area!
Love the title of your post! fits them perfectly!
Hi I would like to know more about you finishing my quilts. I'm working on a few and I really don't want to finish them. If you could get back to me and let me know how much they would be. Thanks Sherry
Yep, Karen McTavish is a character and a neighbor, she lives within 45 minutes of me and yes, she is absolutely a hoot. It's fun to run into her at the LQS. Karen's mom is a talented fiber artist as well.
What fun to have your son in a play, I love plays!
Creepy and awful. Yuk!
I missed it again. I hope they come back next year! :-)
