Sharing Older Quilts

These are new to you but made years ago. This is just a small area of this lap size quilt in the photo. A friend and I cut plenty of fabric to make a couple of these quilts several years back. I'm unsure what we must have been thinking because in the end we had so much fabric cut that we made several. My boys each own one. You'll see another in the photo below. The quilting was just a simple meander (pre-longarm days).

Here is another photo of just a few other older quilts on display in the guest room. These quilts have been with me for several years. Remember the Bull's Eye phase? How many of you have made that one?
I

It was a busy weekend with quilting for others and nothing to show that I've made for myself. Today is a perfect day for quilting. It is raining and cold out. However, after waking at 2am with a wet gown (hot flash) I just couldn't get back to sleep and feel drained today. It would have been nice to have gone directly back to bed after seeing son #2 and DH out the door but I had my hair appt and boy did I need that more than sleep.
Next week is Mid-Atlantic Quilt Show! Who has plans to attend? I'm looking forward to meeting Judy and Marcie.

Very pretty quilts, really like the spring looking pinwheels (usually I am drawn to the darker colors, but I am ready for some sunlight and flowers!)

Hello Mrs. Quilt Hollow!

Love all of your new/old quilts! Since you made so many versions of your quilt, you could send one to me! :o)

The packers/movers are at my house right now. I am sitting in the BOQ nursing my cold and pleading with my little person to just sit down for 5 minutes! Pray for me because it will be a long week!!! I should be in my final spot on Tuesday and I will blog about it later.

Until then, it's always fun to hear from you!You could come to my new house and decorate it with some of your old quilts! (Sounds good to me!)

I'm going to the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival with our guild on a bus trip but will only be there on Thursday from about 10 until about 4. (The previous 2 years, I went and stayed in Williamsburg and was there for the whole show.) Email me if you are going to be there on Thursday and maybe we can get together for a quick hello.

I have a bull's eye sitting on the end of my bed. And I still have plenty of circles cut out to start another one. Have fun at the quilt show!

I love these quilts. They still are my favorite types after watching the changing trends over the years. Please keep sharing the old as well as the new.

I really enjoy seeing your new to me quilts. I've made the Bull's Eye quilt. I also did one for my daughter when the bull's eye came out in the shape of a rose, it's a really pretty quilt. I had somewhere a pattern with a heart shape that I wanted to do but never did.

YES!!! QUIlT SHOW!!! Can't wait although I really don't have a plan this year and not so much that I need to buy. Usually I have a whole list and know exactly where I am going.

Love the quilts...they are new to us! Love that front on on the rack too simple yet very interesting pattern for the star. I'll have to remember that one!

Love looking at any quilt, old or new. Can you tell me what the pattern was for this quilt and where I could find it? I have a lot of scraps I could use to make one like this and I've never seen it before. Thanks for sharing your photos.

What a treat seeing the Old along with the New. To me, the old are just as beautiful as the new, if not more since they have been loved by someone already. Crazy, I know. Give me old - anyday...LOL (Even if it's my hubby...LOL)

Thank you for sharing these wonderful quilt photos. I truly enjoyed browsing them.

love the quilts. Is the one pattern a barb wire or something like that? Seems like I remember you making those in the past - such a nice quilt.
I did the bull's eye back at Ramstein and sold my blocks to Heidi for the cost of the thread. Since so many had been done, she made it into a drunkard's path. This last week I have been working on a scrappy hearts quilt - raw edge applique like the bull's eye. Another one I did in Germany and passed on to someone else. Blocks are done but haven't decided on borders and or sashing yet. I used Kimberly's ruler to cut my 3 sizes of hearts (smallest one from the biggest one - saved on fabric).

I made two bulls eye quilts from 1800s reproductions. Gave away one for a gift. Mine is sandwiched but not quilted.

Your Boxy Stars is gorgeous too! I have been going to make one of those. I love the colors in yours.
