New Year Sewing & Ripping!

Ok so I'm sewing along and just happy as can be with myself for getting two minature tops finished with exception of border fabric and I notice an ERROR! What?! How can that be since I was trying to be ever so careful. Well, look at quilt on the left and see the small pin I placed when I became irritated at myself? I've since corrected the row but geez.....why can't just one quilt top go together without some sort of ripping! I know you know what I'm talking about!
Minature quilts were made with 4 patches and 1/2 sq triangle units. The blocks finished at 1.5 inches. I'm using all Jo Morton fabrics and still need to select borders. This was a free pattern off of Connecting Threads a few years is easy enough to figure out but let me know if you want it.

Heck it took me forever just to find the small pin so I never would of noticed your mistake. The tops are beautiful. Those are really tiny pieces. Thanks for stopping by my blog and I'm really happy that Meowser came home. I look out at least 50 times a day expecting to see Fritz strolling up the sidewalk, however, not yet.

What a great way to start out 2009!

I think that I am going to hold you to the Piece N Plenty challenge!

Boy, I know what you mean. It seems like I can't make a quilt without some unsewing.

Oh I LOVE them! But then that is one of my favorite blocks/designs. And I have some HSTs already made from cut-off corners of a big quilt! I think I know what I'm going to do with them now!

Well, I must be vision impared because I can't see anything about your little creations not to love. So cute. Can't wait to see how you border them.

Next time call it "unsewing" instead of ripping. Some mental thing but it doesn't seem as bad that way.

OK...I think it's's tough to identify a mistake...
Happy sewing and 'unsewing'!

I, too, had to hunt for that tiny pin. At least you found the mistake before you put on borders and started quilting. I did that once. I was too far gone in the quilting process to correct my error.

Oh I've had that happen more than a couple of times myself. Seems no matter how much you pin, once in a while, something shifts or moves and then you go and sew without catching anything. :) It's always one teensy spot that you don't find until it's too late. Would never have noticed it if you hadn't mentioned it. At least you haven't quilted it yet and you can go and fix it. Such a beautiful mini - can't wait to see the how the quilting turns out! :) Are you going to hand or machine quilt?

My eyes must be bad, it took me a couple of times looking just to find the little pin. Both quilts look fantastic to me, great way to start the new year.

I'm so happy to hear your kitty made it home safe and sound.

I can find the pin . . . . but I don't see the problem *s*

My Great Aunt Della always made at least one mistake on all of her quilts. She said that was her way of showing that only God is perfect.

Oh I hate when that happens!!! At least you found it!!! Boy it sure has happened to me!

Lovely quilts! Personally, I think we're our worse critic! Didn't see a thing! lol

Thought I'd never find the pin and then I couldn't figure out what the error was. After looking at it a very long time and going row by row, is the error that this pinned row should be exchanged with the row beneath it.....???? Thus alternating the pinks and reds. Then again it looks fine the way it you planned it that way. As you know, we are our own worst critic.

Your lil quilts are too cute and I was never ever to identify the mistake. There is just something about a small quilt. Great job. Lucky recipient!
