My Surprise Package

I'm still just totally blown away by the friendships formed through blogging. Look at the label! Is that not the cutest label ever? I love the clipart stamp and of course seeing a box addressed to me from Wendy. I sat in disbelief that an unexpected package would arrive for me. After getting over the initial shock I opened up the box to find these CA-UTE gifts!

Wendy sent me a surprise birthday package! My eyes quickly filled with tears, jaw dropped to the floor as I sat in disbelief that somebody I've never met could be so kind and send me all these wonderful gifts. The quilt has already found a spot in my home; the stitchery is one she just posted earlier this week and then she sent it to me! She also sent an adorable pencil box, note pads and a card that will be framed. I'm still in shock and blown away by her kindness and friendship.
To all my non-blogging friends and lurkers.....you truly are missing out on getting to know other wonderful quilters. I'm not saying this because of gifts, but the friendships that form outside of blogging whether it be email, phone calls or meeting at a quilt event.
Several bloggers are working on this wonderful freebie. This is my block #1 of A Tisket, A Tasket by Bunny Hill and can be found here. I used wool and the buttons are not attached until after quilting.

LOVE your bunny. I have been wanting to do that in wool, too. What type of fabric did you use to for the background?

What a great post, it brought a tear to my eye.

Your bunny is adorable! I guess I shouldn't have sewn my buttons on yet.

You lucky lady getting a Wendy creation! Your basket block looks great. Mine is prepped & ready to do but I'm saving it for a road trip. I need some little projects for hand work in the car.

What an amazing gift! Happy birthday, albeit belated. Quilting bloggers have the biggest hearts, don't they? There are some great freebie patterns out there this year, I'm going to have trouble keeping up! Have a great weekend.

I think that's why I have become so addicted to blogging. I have learned more about quilting, decorating, friendships and about myself in the last few months than the past several years. Bloggers are truly special people!

What gorgeous gifts you received. I agree - I have learned more from blogging than anywhere else, and received the most encouragement from seasoned quilters through this forum. People talk about what a scary and dangerous place the internet can be, but here among quilters, you can see the most generous and thoughtful side of human nature.
