My Birthday

Today, just three days before Christmas is my birthday. Some of you already know just how much I absolutely hate having a December birthday. Every year during this time I get a bit down just because all the merriment is geared towards the holidays.

A package came several days ago from my best friend, Claire. I was good and didn't peek because I knew that I wanted something to really make my day today. This is a Jo Morton quilt called, "Rebecca's Baskets." I should have taken close-ups to show off Claire's absolutely perfect hand quilting. I'll treasure this little number forever....thank you Claire.....you are the best!

Happy B-Day and be happy you were born almost on Jesus b-day, my daughter's b-day was on the 20th. and she also hates it, but we always made a big deal of it after 35 still do. God Bless.

Happy Birthday Mary...oh we do have a lot to talk about! My birthday is the 26th! I think I hate it even more than you...when it falls the day after you are a big after thought! Oh yea...that thing you got yesterday was also your present too. Um I don't think so! But my mom was really good about doing something special in early December for me when I was little, so it made up for it well.

Hope you have a wonderful birthday!

Your Jo Morton quilt gift is wonderful! I know what you mean about a holiday time birthday. Mine is in early January. Too close to all the gift giving at Christmas time and too easy too forget. You certainly received a special gift this year!

I do hope OUR birthday wasn't too terrible. And I'm sorry that I didn't find this post until now to tell you that we share a birthday, as well as a love of quilting.

I, too, spent my growing up years with Christmas-y decorated cakes (one year it was Santa skiing down an icing mountain) and those belated birthday wishes like this one I'm leaving for you. Someone would ask, about this time of year, "Don't you have a birthday coming up real soon?" NOPE - it was 3 days before Christ's birthday! Anyway, I've come to love having a birthday so close to Christ's now that I don't really care to have more birthdays - it's kinda like a special little secret!

Hope your's was a happy one, along with a Merry Christmas, and a safe and prosperous New Year.
