Boxy Star Quilt Needs Border Help and Giveaway News

Isn't this the cutest bag for Fall? It can be yours but I'm hoping it will be mine! Go on over to http://justanotherhangup.blogspot.com/ to enter.

My 2 1/2 strip bin of scraps is nearly depleted. I've been feverishly working on a twin size Scrappy Boxy Stars quilt and now am trying to decide whether or not I should have a scrappy border or just go with a single print. The above photo is just a few quick random pieces of fabric I tossed down to see what a scrappy border may look like. In the photo below I selected two different fabrics out of my stash just to see what you all thought. I'd love to hear suggestions. I planned for a 4" finished border.

I like them both, but I think I like it scrappy a little better. Both set it off really well.

I love the scrappy border, a scrappy quilt should have a scrappy border.
Thanks for the giveaway link.

Hmmm...what have you decided? Personally, I prefer the one fabric border... since the quilt is pretty busy, but I'm pretty inexperienced when it comes to that, so I'm sure it will look awesome when you're done!

I like the bottom fabric for the border. How about a scrappy binding? Really nice quilt!

I usually like a solid border on quilt to frame it but I think I prefer the scrappy border on this quilt....both would work tho.....Haven't we all been helpful.....!!

Looks like I may have the first dissenting opinion, but judging from just the photos, I would choose the single border on the left! The scale of the print on that fabric is large enough to be really interesting, but not overpowering or competing with the scrappy blocks. Either way, the quilt is really pretty. You did a great job!

I maybe giving you an option that will just cause more of a problem, rather than a solution. How about using the two lower fabrics as your border, not equal proportions. That way it is a compromise on a scrappy border. I did see it on a quilt once, and thought is was a great idea, and hopefully one that I would use sometime. No matter what you decide, you will have one awesome finished project. Congrats !
